progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Kapolda Metro Jaya, Komjen Pol Dadang Hartanto has opened a direct communication channel via WhatsApp to receive public complaints. This move aims to strengthen the bond between the police and residents while accelerating the handling of cases requiring immediate response.
He conveyed this during a dialogue and gathering between the Kapolri and the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) at the MUI Headquarters in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
“We have opened a WhatsApp line that we monitor directly so that i can communicate straight with the public,” said Kapolda Dadang.
He noted, that a number of complaint messages had already been received via the WhatsApp number, including reports of domestic violence. According to him, some of these reports indicated instances of slow handling by police personnel—cases that actually demand a rapid response.
Incoming complaints are categorized based on their nature and the urgency of the required response. Through this mechanism, he hopes, that public reports can be followed up in a more systematic and measurable manner.
Kapolda Dadang also highlighted efforts to combat narcotics and juvenile delinquency. He mentioned that several drug hotspots had been cleared out under the Kapolri’s orders. The police are also focusing on school environments to preemptively address student delinquency, including brawls and the possession of sharp weapons such as sickles.
“We realize that the task here in Jakarta is not easy,” he added.
Elaborating further, Kapolda Dadang asked for the public’s prayers and support for the Kapolri’s programs, particularly those aimed at fostering closer ties between the police and the community.
He emphasized, that support from various parties, including religious scholars (ulama), is essential to assist the police in carrying out their duty to maintain security and protect the public.
“I am fully aware that the prayers of religious scholars are powerful and answered. Prayer is the weapon of Muslims, and for me, religious scholars are a primary source of support in carrying out my duties,” acknowledged Kapolda Dadang. (Bembo)
