Impressive, Polres of Cirebon City raffic Unit Transforms 700 Loud Exhausts into a Shrimp Monument

A shrimp-shaped monument made from loud, non-standard exhausts in Cirebon City.

progresifjaya.co.id, CIREBON CITY – The Polres of Cirebon City Traffic Unit has demonstrated remarkable creativity by transforming 700 loud exhausts—confiscated during traffic violation enforcement—into a shrimp-shaped monument. The monument stands in the garden at the T-junction in front of the Grage Police Post in Cirebon City.

This creative work was intentionally created to serve as a reminder of traffic violation enforcement while also conveying a message about the importance of orderliness and road safety.

Polres of Cirebon City Head of Traffic, AKP Hadi Suryanto explained, that the idea for the monument arose after the police force had amassed a large number of loud exhausts during enforcement operations over the past two months. These pieces of evidence were creatively transformed into a work that holds value and carries a message for the public.

“After two months of enforcement operations, we saw the potential to process the confiscated items into a work of value,” said AKP Hadi in a recent statement.

He noted, that the shrimp shape was chosen due to its connection to Cirebon City’s identity as a coastal region. The monument is also an initiative by the Kapolres of Cirebon City to remind the public about traffic violation enforcement.

Before being used as material for the monument, the hundreds of exhausts underwent a destruction process carried out at Pusdiklatpri. From those enforcement actions, 700 exhausts were collected to serve as the primary material for the shrimp sculpture.

The loud-exhaust shrimp monument measures approximately four meters in length and 2.5 meters in height. The sculpture was crafted by artisans in Kuningan Regency. Meanwhile, the monument’s foundation and base are being prepared directly at the installation site near the Grage Police Post.

The presence of this monument in a public space is intended not only to serve as an artwork reflecting local identity but also to remind the public to comply with regulations regarding vehicle exhaust systems. This enforcement initiative is part of the police force’s broader efforts to promote traffic security, order, and safety.

The shrimp-shaped monument, constructed from 700 loud, non-standard exhausts, is scheduled to be inaugurated by the Kapolda of West Java once construction is complete. The inauguration is targeted for the near future—either during the current week or the following week at the latest—depending on the monument’s readiness. (Bembo)
