progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Kapolda Metro Jaya, Komjen Pol Dadang Hartanto, urged online ride-hailing drivers (ojol) to prioritize their health and safety while earning a living. He delivered this message during a “Blessed Saturday” (Sabtu Berkah) event held with ride-hailing drivers in front of the Polda Metro Jaya’s Special Criminal Investigation Directorate building on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

The event—also attended by the Directors of Intelligence and Security, Traffic, and Community Policing of the Polda Metro Jaya—provided an opportunity for Kapolda Dadang to greet and converse directly with the drivers. He reminded them to exercise caution while working, noting that their families are waiting for them to return home safely.

“The most important thing is to look after your health and safety. Wherever you go, make that your top priority,” he said.

Kapolda Dadang also encouraged the drivers to offer a prayer before heading out to work, so that they may return home safely.

He further mentioned that the “Blessed Saturday” initiative with ride-hailing drivers is planned to be a recurring weekly event, serving as a way to share resources and maintain strong bonds, in line with the spirit of “Polisi Bersama Masyarakat”.

Hendri Manurung, a ride-hailing driver from North Jakarta who has been working in the field since 2015, welcomed the initiative. He expressed his appreciation for the Kapolda Metro Jaya’s attention and hopes that communication between the police and the ride-hailing community will continue, including in efforts to maintain public safety and comfort.

A similar sentiment was shared by Jefry Gobang, a coordinator for ride-hailing drivers in the Bekasi Regency area. He expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided and for the opportunity to meet and connect directly with the Kapolda Metro Jaya.

According to him, the event is beneficial for the drivers and serves as a valuable opportunity to foster a positive relationship with the police force. (Bembo)
