progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, stated that several high-ranking and mid-level Polri officers—including generals—were arrested at the residence of a former Kapolri for their involvement in the wiretapping of President Prabowo Subianto.

He explained, that the six high-ranking and mid-level officers were apprehended on the night of Sunday, November 1, 2026.
It should be noted that the residence in question doesn’t belong to Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

This information was disclosed during the Terus Terang podcast on the Mahfud MD Official YouTube channel.

Mahfud stated, that the six officers taken into custody consist of three Inspectors General (Irjen) and three Senior Commissioners (Kombes).

They confessed to wiretapping President Prabowo and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya under the orders of Listyo Sigit, who was serving as the Kapolri at the time, prior to being succeeded by Suyudi Ario Seto on October 1, 2026.

According to Mahfud, following this confession, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit was picked up in the middle of the night (around 3:00 AM WIB) by the Wakapolri and the Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Kabareskrim). However, he was released shortly before dawn (around 5:00 AM WIB).

Mahfud suggested, that there may have been negotiations or some form of bargaining, though ultimately, Jenderal Pol Listyo Sigit was named a suspect, alongside Irjen Pol Ahrie Sonta Nasution and Irjen Pol Eko Hadi Santoso. Subsequently, Irjen Pol Slamet Uliandi was also named a suspect.

The case concerns allegations of the deletion of electronic data and illegal access, with evidence seized including several mobile phones, iPads, and flash drives. Even so, Mahfud has declined to publicly disclose the identity of the house owner.

“Let’s leave that for later; there’s no need to mention it—it will come to light on its own,” he said.

He also acknowledged, that he had been aware of the arrests since Monday, November 2, and the morning of Tuesday, November 3, 2026, but chose to remain silent.

Mahfud adopted this stance to observe whether the proceedings would be halted or allowed to continue. He views this case as the most significant crime in the history of the Polri.

Why? Because it targeted the head of state, ultimately leading to allegations of treason.

To date, the name of the house owner mentioned by Mahfud has not been officially announced. However, speculation has emerged pointing toward two former Kapolri. They are:

Jenderal Pol (Ret) Idham Azis (Kapolri 2019–2021): He is the immediate predecessor of Listyo Sigit. He remains relatively active within police circles and has previously assisted the Kabareskrim. His historical ties to certain networks within the Polri Headquarters have led to his name frequently surfacing in informal discussions.

Jenderal Pol (Ret) Tito Karnavian (Kapolri 2016–2019): Tito Karnavian is said to wield broader political influence. His connections to the Solo circle—the base associated with President Jokowi—align with Mahfud’s analysis regarding the origin of the information obtained through wiretapping. Tito also previously collaborated with Idham on counter-terrorism operations.

Mahfud remains confident that the identity will be revealed as the investigation progresses. Meanwhile, Kapolri Suyudi Ario Seto has commended Mahfud for his courage in bringing an internal matter to light.

The Polri continue to investigate the motives, networks, and potential involvement of other parties. Further developments will be disclosed to clarify the initial location of the arrests and the roles of all individuals involved. (Bembo)
