Jakarta Becomes the Second-Highest City for Travelers, Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate Prepares Best Service Scheme

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Ministry of Transportation predicts Jakarta will be the second-highest city for travelers during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday. Therefore, the Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate (Ditlantas) has prepared the best scheme and service to ensure a smooth homecoming journey.

There are three main routes for travelers from Jakarta. The first is westbound to Sumatera. Then, southbound to Bogor and its surroundings, and eastbound to Java. Along these three routes, the Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate will set up 101 checkpoints to ensure a smooth homecoming journey.

“We’re doing this by establishing no less than 101 service posts. These include security posts, service posts, integrated posts, and monitoring posts on roads predicted to see a surge,” said the Director of Traffic for the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Komarudin, on Monday, March 9, 2026.

In addition to the posts, rest areas have also been prepared for travelers traveling on motorcycles so they can rest. These rest areas are located at the Jatiuwung and Kalimalang Pospam (security posts).

“We’ve also prepared a special rest area for motorcyclists, with those heading west at the Jatiuwung Pospam. Because these motorcyclists have a long journey, they’ll be crossing to Sumatera via Jalan Daan Mogot. We’ve also prepared rest areas at several other locations in Kalimalang and Bekasi,” said Kombes Pol Komarudin.

He also appealed to motorcycle travelers to avoid overloading and carrying passengers. He urged travelers to prioritize safety to live up to the slogan “Safe Homecoming, Happy Family.”

“For travelers who will be bringing vehicles, especially motorcycles, we urge you to pay attention to your belongings and your family. Don’t overload them. Follow the rules and regulations,” he emphasized.

He also advised travelers to pay attention to their physical health and the roadworthiness of their vehicles during their homecoming trip. Weather conditions must also be monitored and anticipated. As a solution, the Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate has prepared a traffic management scheme in the event of flooding on the homecoming route. This effort is also part of Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026, which will be held from March 13 to 25. (Bembo)
