Joint Officers from the Tasikmalaya City Polres Respond Quickly to a Fallen Tree on Ibrahim Adji Street

A tree fell during heavy rain on Ibrahim Adji Street, near the BLK (Vocational Training Center) rail gate, Sukamaju Kaler Village, Indihiang District, Tasikmalaya City.
progresifjaya.co.id, TASIKMALAYA – Heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds in Tasikmalaya City caused a tree to fall on Ibrahim Adji Street, near the BLK (Vocational Training Center) rail gate in Sukamaju Kaler Village, Indihiang District, Tasikmalaya City, on Thursday, April 2, 2026.
The fallen tree immediately disrupted traffic flow in the area. The Tasikmalaya City Polres Traffic Unit immediately deployed personnel to ease the congestion.
A joint response to the fallen tree was carried out by officers from the Traffic Management Unit I, the supervisory team (Pawas), the Indihiang Polsek, the Tasikmalaya City Polres Traffic Unit, and the Tasikmalaya City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).
The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) officers, along with police personnel, immediately carried out the evacuation by cutting and tidying up fallen tree trunks and branches to prevent obstructions to traffic flow.
Kapolres of the Tasikmalaya City, AKBP Andi Purwanto, through the First Officer (Pamapta I), Ipda Jonih Jonansa stated, that his team immediately moved to the location after receiving reports from the public.
“We, along with the Pawas (Regional Emergency Management Unit) task force, the Indihiang Polsek, the Traffic Polres, the Samapta (Regional Security Unit), and the Tasikmalaya City BPBD, immediately went to the location after receiving reports from residents,” Ipda Jonih Jonansa said, Friday, April 3, 2026.
He continued, saying that rapid coordination between agencies was key to handling the incident so that the evacuation process could be carried out quickly and effectively.
After the evacuation process was completed, the next step was to regulate traffic until road conditions returned to normal and vehicles could pass through as usual.
“We urge the public and road users to always be careful and vigilant during the current rainy season. This fallen tree incident serves as an example for us to always be vigilant on the road,” said Ipda Jonih Jonansa. (Bembo)
