progresifjaya.co.id, SOUTH TANGERANG — News of the death of a 7th-grade student from SMPN 19 in South Tangerang City, identified as MH (13), on Sunday, November 16, 2025, has garnered special attention from the South Tangerang Polres Criminal Investigation Unit. This is especially true given that the victim’s condition prior to death went viral thanks to a post posted on an Instagram account. MH himself passed away after undergoing intensive care at Fatmawati General Hospital.
The South Tangerang Polres Criminal Investigation Unit immediately went to Fatmawati General Hospital to gather information from the family and medical personnel. This swift action was taken to obtain and verify the initial facts on the ground and also as a responsive response to public concerns.
Several other steps to gather information have also been taken in a humane and empathetic manner. Investigators have visited the school to question the principal, homeroom teacher, and student witnesses who witnessed the incident. Investigators have also visited the home of the child’s family suspected of involvement and reviewed MH’s treatment history at several healthcare facilities.
Coordination was also carried out with the Legal and Public Relations Bureau of Fatmawati General Hospital to ensure that official medical data could be obtained for analysis.
The victim’s family has not yet filed a police report. However, investigators are still compiling an information report to ensure the fact-finding process continues according to regulations.
Going forward, the South Tangerang Polres will also request additional information from student witnesses, then cross-check the results of medical examinations from several health facilities, and await a complete medical summary from Fatmawati General Hospital.
All these documents will serve as references for consultations with specialist doctors, as well as as a basis for requesting the family to permit a post-mortem or autopsy for medical clarity.
“The Polri expresses its deepest condolences for the victim’s death. Since this case first went viral, we have acted quickly and responsively to verify the information and carry out investigative steps,” explained the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto.
“We will also continue to improve the quality of public services, especially regarding the handling of cases involving children as a vulnerable group,” he added. (Bembo)
