progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Despite only being in office for a few weeks, the Director of Traffic (Dirlantas) of the Polda West Java, Kombes Pol Raydian Krokosono, immediately began his duties by inspecting the Gentong arterial homecoming route in Tasikmalaya, West Java. This arterial route was the focus of the inspection because the Gentong arterial route is the main route on the border of Tasikmalaya and Garut, serving long-distance travel.

This main southern route is also known for its steep terrain, sharp inclines, sharp turns, and is often a major traffic jam during the Eid holidays. During the Eid homecoming/return rush, congestion on this route can stretch for up to 15 kilometers, from Gentong to Rajapolah. Therefore, a one-way system is often implemented from the Gentong to Jamanis intersection to ease traffic congestion.

Dirlantas Kombes Pol Raydian also checked the road’s readiness during this inspection to ensure the certainty and readiness of various aspects of the route. Starting from the readiness of road infrastructure, the geometric conditions of the routes, and also supporting traffic safety facilities. He wants all of these to be ensured to support the smooth flow of travelers for Eid al-Fitr 1447 H.

“The Gentong route is a particular concern for me due to its challenging terrain. Vehicle volume also increases significantly during the homecoming season. I want to minimize the potential for obstacles and the risk of traffic accidents during Operation Ketupat Lodaya 2026,” explained the former Director of Traffic for the Polda West Papua from the Wira Pratama Battalion of the Police Academy (Akpol 1997).

“By conducting on-site inspections, i can also assure you that the southern route is truly ready to serve the 1447 H Eid homecoming/return flow. This includes both road conditions and the completeness of safety facilities. The public can now travel safely,” he added.

The mid-ranking officer with the registration number 75110776 also stated, that the results of this on-site inspection will serve as the basis for further coordination with relevant agencies to make technical improvements and adjustments before the Eid homecoming/return flow. Hopefully, it will be carried out safely and smoothly according to expectations, Commander. (Bembo)
