The Boston Celtics’ second west coast road game against the LA Lakers, which the Boston Celtics won decisively, 111-89.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Boston Celtics played their second West Coast road trip against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, February 23, 2026, morning WIB. Facing their arch-rivals at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the Green Machine managed to secure their seventh win in February, crushing the Lakers by 22 points, 111-89.

Jaylen Brown once again led the Boston Celtics in scoring with 32 points. Payton Pritchard was also unstoppable with 30 points of his own, including a series of difficult shots throughout the night, as no Lakers player could match the former Sixth Man of the Year award winner.

The LA Lakers started with Marcus Smart, Austin Reeves, DeAndre Ayton, Luka Dončić, and LeBron James. The Boston Celtics started the game with Brown, White, Queta, Hauser, and Scheierman. The Celtics started the game somewhat slowly, allowing the Lakers to score the first four points. Scheierman finally hit a three-pointer from the corner to give the Celtics the lead in the tenth minute of the first quarter.

Long-range players Neemias Queta and DeAndre Ayton traded baskets as both teams settled into their rhythm. Luka also scored for LA, and Hauser hit two open three-pointers for Boston, tying the score at 15-15 early in an entertaining first quarter. Pritchard and Vooch entered the court for Boston in the sixth minute, and they watched as Jaylen Brown stole the ball and threw down a powerful two-handed slam dunk.

Brown hit a beautiful close-range shot for his sixth point on 3-for-7 shooting early in the game. Vooch stopped Doncic on the low block, and Brown fed the ball into the key area with a sweet short hook shot for his first points of the game.

Kennard scored his first shot of the game with LeBron watching from the bench as the Lakers took an early 25-21 lead. Derrick White got into the paint and hit a floater to tie the game at 25.

Hugo Gonzalez was assigned to guard Luka Doncic late in the first quarter and kept pace with the former Real Madrid star. Doncic took a step back, and Hugo remained close to the Slovenian All-Star. Derrick White made a brilliant steal against Vanderbilt and delivered a neat alley-oop dunk to Vucevic.

At the end of a tense quarter, Jordan Walsh made a huge block from behind and fouled Pritchard on an errant pass. LeBron missed a layup, and Walsh was fouled for jumping over Reaves to try to make the basket.

Gonzalez fouled Reaves less than a second into the quarter, but made three free throws to tie the Lakers’ lead at 28-28 at the end of the first quarter.

Second Quarter

Payton Pritchard scored Boston’s first six points of the second quarter, including a killer stepback three-pointer over Vanderbilt, as the game was at its peak. Brown accidentally kicked Queta in the face during a scramble for a loose ball.

Brown took a jump shot that hit Smart in the chin. Austin Reaves was called for a technical foul for applauding the referee as Brown made the technical free throw. Former Celtics player Marcus Smart continued to complain to the referee, and then had a chance to score as the situation escalated.

Scheierman and Brown executed a perfect fast break play after another steal, their sixth of the game. The Celtics led 38-33 when the Lakers called a timeout to halt their momentum. The Lakers came out of the timeout with a strategy aimed at Luka Doncic, who calmly scored inside the paint past rookie Hugo Gonzalez.

Doncic hit a three-pointer and argued he was fouled while sitting on the court. Gonzalez ran the length of the court for an unguarded layup. Boston led 44-41 as Luka began to settle into the game.

Derrick White hit a beautiful three-pointer from the corner, after receiving a pass from Pritchard in front of the Celtics bench, to extend Boston’s lead to six points.

Queta blocked and knocked LeBron James’ spinning shot off the backboard, while the Lakers bench cheered after replays showed a clear goaltend foul.

Brown stole the ball from Doncic as he attempted to drive inside. Boston was very active on the defensive end, taking the ball away from the Lakers seven times in the first half. White scored his 10th point of the game on another three-pointer, but Payton Pritchard stole the show again with a three-pointer in the final seconds of the first half past Doncic, giving Boston a 60-50 lead.

The second half began with Ayton receiving his fourth technical foul in the first minute of the second half. Brown hit a three-pointer to open the scoring for Boston, his sixteenth of the game.

Doncic hit a wide-open three-pointer for his 21st point of the game. Queta escaped a penalty for putting his hands inside the basket on a defensive play, and Reddick received the team’s third technical foul as the Lakers were on the losing side.

Pritchard scored his third three-pointer on a deep step-back shot. Jaylen Brown hit a step-back jumper past Austin Reaves, Scheierman keeping the ball alive with a tip-off past three Lakers. Payton Pritchard picked up the loose ball and calmly sank his fourth three-pointer of the night, Boston still in control at 77-65 with three minutes left in the third quarter.

Reddick and the Lakers successfully appealed a foul call as Brown broke through three Lakers players in white jerseys. However, Boston regained possession, and Hugo Gonzalez scored a layup with the Lakers defense caught off guard, giving Boston a 14-point lead.

Laravia drove and dunked in a chaotic game, becoming the first Laker player other than James or Doncic to score in the third quarter. Jaylen Brown hit his second three-pointer to end the second quarter, his 24-point total as Boston led 84-71 with one quarter remaining.

Fourth Quarter

Joe Mazzulla played Walsh, White, Vucevic, Pritchard, and Hauser early in the fourth quarter. The group only conceded five points to the Lakers before Boston called a timeout for discussion.

Payton Pritchard’s eyes lit up when Lavaria was assigned to guard him, and he scored on a step-back jump shot. Pritchard’s next drive resulted in another, his 23rd, past Austin Reaves, who was trying to reach the ball, giving Boston a 92-77 lead.

A Jaylen Brown mid-range shot on a step-back move in the sixth minute felt like it was all over for the Lakers, as they were out of the game, Boston completely in control. LeBron went to the bench with six and a half minutes remaining, Lukaku called an offensive foul on Scheierman, and things only got worse for LA.

Jaylen Brown’s strong play and his finish, which resulted in a point and a free throw (and-1) past Luka Doncic, sent the Lakers fans out of the parking lot early. The Lakers surrendered with three minutes left in the game. The Boston Celtics won big in La La Land by a margin of 22 points.

The Celtics will next face the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, February 24th local time. (Bembo)
