HUKUM & KRIMINAL

Large Man Pretending to Be a Big Man at a Cipinang Gas Station Becomes a Suspect and a Nerdy During Interrogation by the Kapolres Metro East Jakarta

The perpetrator, who pretended to be a police officer but was actually stupid, with the initials JMH, changed his name to a nerdy or cupu during questioning by the Kapolres Metro East Jakarta, Kombes Pol Alfian Nurrizal.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – A large man with the initials JMH (31), who claimed to be a member of the National Police and beat up an employee at a Cipinang gas station in East Jakarta, has been named a suspect by investigators at the East Jakarta Metro Polres. He has been charged under Article 466 of the Criminal Code concerning Assault, which carries a maximum sentence of 2 years and 6 months in prison or a maximum fine of Rp50 million, and/or Article 471 of the Criminal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of 6 months in prison or a maximum fine of Rp10 million.

JMH’s brazen behavior also went viral on social media. Driving a black 2.500cc Toyota Vellfire, JMH went to the Cipinang gas station on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at around 10:10 PM to fill up with subsidized fuel, Pertalite.

However, because the barcode provided didn’t match the vehicle’s license plate number, JMH’s request to fill up with Pertalite was rejected. He was advised to fill up with Pertamax with RON 92, following standard operating procedures (SOP) for a 2.500cc car.

But JMH’s brain seemed to be in his knees. Despite this advice, he became enraged and got out of the car and went on a rampage. Three gas station employees, LH, AM, and AKA, were hit raw. He confidently claimed to be a member of the Polri and that the car he was driving was the Regional Police Chief’s car. He was unaware that his antics were being recorded and the video was uploaded to social media, where it went viral.

JMH was arrested by a joint team from the East Jakarta Metro Polres Criminal Investigation Unit and the Pulogadung Polsek Criminal Investigation Unit in the Rawalumbu area of East Bekasi on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at around 4:00 PM. This large but dim-witted man was then taken to the East Jakarta Metro Polres for further questioning.

At this point, the situation changed. JMH, who previously appeared intimidating due to his large build, drastically transformed into a nerd in front of the Kapolres Metro East Jakarta, Kombes Pol Alfian Nurrizal.

“Why did you choose to call this a general’s car? And what general do you mean? A police general or a military general?” Kapolrestro Alfian asked JMH in a stern tone on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

JMH remained silent.
“My question is, why are you using a fake TNKB?” Kombes Pol Alfian asked again. Only then did JMH answer. “Ready, to fill up with Pertalite, sir,” he replied innocently, displaying his ignorance.

Cipinang gas station staff, Mukhlisin (38) explained that because the barcode displayed did not match the vehicle’s license plate, the attendant had advised the customer to fill up with Pertamax according to standard operating procedures (SOP). However, the customer became angry and went on a rampage, hitting the gas station employee. The customer also reportedly repeatedly referred to his car as belonging to a general and insulted the kapolda.

“The customer said, ‘This is the general’s car.’ Then in the video, he also said ‘kapolda.’ There was narration, including the words ‘kapolda’ when he was shouting,” Mukhlisin explained.

Head of Public Relations for the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto, stated in his statement, that the investigation revealed that JMH was a civilian, not a police officer. In addition to accusing JMH of being a self-proclaimed liar, investigators also secured a pair of vehicle license plates, a Toyota Vellfire, a video recording of the assault, and the victim’s clothing as evidence.

“Acts of violence against the public are unacceptable. We will take firm action against any violation of the law without discrimination. The investigation process is proceeding according to applicable procedures and legal provisions,” stated Kombes Pol Bhudi.

Furthermore, Kombes Pol Bhudi also appealed to the public to respond wisely to information circulating on social media and to wait for official clarification from the authorities to avoid misunderstandings.

“We urge the public to remain calm and not be influenced by unverified information. If you witness similar incidents or acts of violence, report them immediately through Call Center 110 or the nearest police station. Every report will be followed up,” he emphasized. (Bembo)
