progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Director of Traffic for the Polda Metro Jaya (Dirlantas), Kombes Pol Komarudin stated, that arterial routes are prone to accidents during the Eid homecoming (mudik) period. He identified several points in the area as having the potential for accidents.

“Starting from Pondok Indah to the south, Pondok Indah-Ciputat to the west, then Daan Mogot to the west, including Kalimalang. These are areas with the potential for accidents during the homecoming period,” said Kombes Pol Komarudin on Friday, March 13, 2026.

He urged travelers to be careful and not carry too much luggage while driving. They were also reminded to maintain their physical condition to ensure they are strong enough to travel home.

“We urge travelers who must ride their own motorcycles to be mindful of their belongings. Don’t carry too many people, and be mindful of the number of passengers,” said Kombes Pol Komarudin.

He also stated, that he recommends people take part in the free homecoming program as an alternative. He considers this program safer than driving private vehicles.

“Because the distance is quite long and the weather can sometimes be rainy, be extremely careful. If possible, it’s better to use the free homecoming program to achieve the tagline ‘Safe Homecoming, Happy Family’,” he reminded. (Bembo)
