Several Polda Metro Jaya personnel interacted warmly with protesters and the surrounding community.

Not only were they present to maintain a safe and orderly atmosphere, but officers also distributed siomay (dumplings) to protesters. This simple moment reflected the police’s concern and humane approach to serving the public as they expressed their aspirations.

The officers engaged in casual conversation, greeted protesters, and even took photos or selfies with the public. This atmosphere demonstrated that the expression of opinions remained calm and orderly, while prioritizing humanitarian values.

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto explained, that activities like this are part of the Polda Metro Jaya’s commitment to providing humane service to the public.

“The Polda Metro Jaya is here not only to maintain security, but also to provide a sense of comfort to our brothers and sisters who are expressing their aspirations. This humanistic approach is a form of Polri’s service to the community,” explained Kombes Pol Bhudi.

According to him, distributing siomay (dumplings) to protesters is a simple symbol of the communication and closeness between officers and the community, especially during public outreach.

“Small things like greetings, dialogue, and sharing food can lighten the mood. We want the entire series of activities to proceed safely, orderly, peacefully, and with mutual respect,” he said.

Furthermore, Kombes Pol Bhudi also stated, that Polda Metro Jaya fully respects the public’s right to express their opinions in public, as long as they do so in an orderly manner and in accordance with regulations.

“We invite all protesters to work together to maintain a conducive situation. Express your aspirations in an orderly manner.
