progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA — Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri, along with Wakapolda Metro Brigjen Pol Dekananto Eko Purwono, and several senior Polda Metro Jaya officials, attended a gathering with the Public Order Belt (Sabuk Kamtibmas) at the Polda Metro Meeting Hall (BPMJ) in Jakarta on Saturday, May 9, 2026.

This event was held to strengthen communication and collaboration between the Polda Metro Jaya and the Sabuk Kamtibmas. The Sabuk Kamtibmas is considered to play a crucial role in supporting a safe, orderly, and conducive environment.

The Sabuk Kamtibmas itself is a collaborative program involving the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Polri, local governments (Pemda), and community elements such as community leaders, regional security officers like security guards (Satpam) or neighborhood watch (Siskamling), and community organizations to work together to maintain security and order.

 In his remarks, Kapolda Metro Jaya, Irjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri stated, that the Sabuk Kamtibmas is a community partner who cares about environmental security. Therefore, their presence is expected to help maintain a safe, orderly, and conducive public order and security situation.

“The Sabuk Kamtibmas plays a crucial role in helping maintain the environment. Their presence is part of our shared commitment to creating a safe and orderly atmosphere,” he said.

He also emphasized, that the spirit of Jaga Jakarta is not solely the responsibility of the police but also requires shared concern. Therefore, Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ encouraged the Sabuk Kamtibmas to maintain good communication with the police and contribute to creating an orderly and peaceful atmosphere.

“Guarding Jakarta must be done together. The police cannot work alone without the support of the community. Therefore, gatherings like this are important to strengthen collaboration and mutual care,” said Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’.

The Polda Metro Jaya, the Kapolda continued, hopes that the relationship with the Sabuk Kamtibmas will grow stronger over time. Besides being a means of fostering camaraderie, this activity also provides a platform for building closeness between the police and the community in a humane manner.

“Thank you to the Sabuk Kamtibmas for their continued presence in protecting the environment. Let’s maintain this togetherness and work together to keep Jakarta safe, orderly, and conducive,” concluded Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’ expressing his appreciation.
