Yahoo Sports NBA Analyst Suggests Boston Celtics Sign Flory Bidunga

The Boston Celtics are advised to draft 2,06 meter forward Flory Bidunga from the Kansas Jayhawks in the second round.

progresifjaya.co.id. JAKARTA – The Boston Celtics will be rethinking their strategy after their first-round loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. The first thing they must consider is making some important decisions regarding their roster.

While the Boston Celtics may consider trading their star guard, Jaylen Brown, that decision likely won’t be made until July. However, they could make a significant move first with their pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.

Yahoo Sports NBA analyst Kevin O’Connor published a mock draft on Friday, May 8, 2026, that featured the Boston Celtics selecting Kansas Jayhawks forward Flory Bidunga in the second round.

“Bidunga is a tall 2,06 meter player with quick feet, soft hands, and the defensive instincts to secure the basket,” O’Connor wrote.

“He also has the ability to switch positions, which could make him invaluable on defense. But he lacks the size of a true center and the perimeter skills on offense,” he added.

As a player born in Kinshasa, Congo, and moved to the United States as a teenager, O’Connor said, he’s still learning the ropes of high-level basketball. So there may be untapped potential in the long term.

O’Connor also said the Boston Celtics should focus on adding depth to their forward line. Bringing Bidunga into the team could be a smart move.

“While he might not make an immediate impact in high-pressure situations, over the next few years, he could develop into a legitimate option for the Boston Celtics,” O’Connor said confidently.
