progresifjaya.co.id, PEKANBARU – The 2026 Anti-Drug Operation (LK) conducted by the Polda of Riau over 22 days yielded satisfactory results. Operation LK ran from April 16 to May 7, 2026.

By prioritizing preventive and preemptive measures, and implementing massive law enforcement, the operation successfully cut 435 cases of drug abuse and distribution and apprehended 557 suspects.

This presentation was delivered by the Wakapolda of Riau, Brigjen Pol Hengki Haryadi, accompanied by the Director of Narcotics Investigation of the Polda of Riau, Kombes Pol Putu Yudha Prawira, during a media meeting at the Polda of Riau Headquarters on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

“In addition to law enforcement, we also conduct preventive and preemptive activities such as outreach, outreach, education, patrols, and raids at nightclubs, boarding houses, and drug-prone locations,” explained Brigjen Pol Hengki Haryadi.

During the operation, Brigjen Pol Hengki continued, 4.128 preventive activities were recorded, accompanied by 1.431 patrols and raids in various areas of Riau.

Meanwhile, regarding the 435 cases uncovered, the confiscated evidence included 31,85 kilograms of methamphetamine, 2.319 ecstasy pills, 110,74 grams of marijuana, 62 Happy Five pills, and 761 cartridges containing etomidate.

Furthermore, Rp159 million in cash suspected to be the proceeds of drug transactions was also confiscated, along with five cars, a speedboat used to transport goods from abroad, 128 motorcycles, and 467 mobile phones belonging to the suspects.

Brigjen Pol Hengki also revealed, that of the 557 suspects arrested, 487 were imprisoned for their involvement in the drug trafficking network. Meanwhile, 70 others were rehabilitated based on the results of an integrated assessment.

“Alhamdulillah, the uncovering of this LK operation has saved approximately 162.754 Indonesians from the dangers of drugs,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Polda of Riau Narcotics Investigation Unit, Kombes Pol Putu Yudha Prawira stated in a statement, that the majority of suspects arrested were part of drug trafficking networks, not simply users.

“On average, we arrested around 25 suspects each day during the operation. This shows that drug trafficking in Riau remains a serious threat that must be combated together,” said Kombes Pol Putu Yudha.

He also explained, that most of the drug cases uncovered were the result of covert but deliberate efforts by international networks from neighboring countries entering through Riau’s border areas.

“Riau is a strategic region vulnerable to becoming a drug entry route from abroad. Therefore, the war on drugs is our serious concern,” he emphasized.

He also stated, that the Polda of Riau have implemented a zero-tolerance policy against drug crimes. Therefore, collaboration with the community through the establishment of the Drug Task Force and the Anti-Drug Resilient Village program continues to be strengthened.

“The war on drugs is not just the police’s responsibility, but also a shared responsibility of all elements of society. So, say no to drugs and say yes to life, okay!” Kombes Pol Putu Yudha concluded his statement.
