Deputy Director of Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Danang Setiyo Pambudi symbolically handed over three powerful legal primbon to the Akpol Cadets.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya’s General Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) is strengthening legal literacy for prospective police officers.  Strengthening legal literacy was demonstrated by the presentation of three powerful legal textbooks as fundamental legal references for prospective officers to study.

The Deputy Director of General Criminal Investigation (Wadir Reskrimum) of the Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Danang Setiyo Pambudi symbolically presented these three powerful legal textbooks to 17 Police Academy (Akpol) cadets undergoing field practice at the Polda Metro Jaya on Friday, May 15, 2026.

The three powerful legal reference textbooks presented included the latest Criminal Code (KUHP) based on Law Number 1 of 2023, the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) as stipulated in Law Number 20 of 2025, and the Criminal Adjustment Book stipulated in Law Number 1 of 2026.

The presentation of these three powerful legal textbooks was also considered a strategic step to equip the Akpol cadets with comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of criminal law in Indonesia.

As the next generation of the institution, cadets are required to master procedural law and the legal principles adopted. This aims to ensure that all future police actions remain within the applicable legal framework.

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto stated in his statement, that mastering the latest regulations is key to creating professional police personnel. He added that national legal reforms also require every police officer to continually update their knowledge to prevent procedural errors when serving the public or enforcing the law.

 “This activity demonstrates the institution’s commitment to preparing legally literate officers. Mastery of Law No. 1 of 2023, Law No. 20 of 2025, and Law No. 1 of 2026 is the foundation for cadets so that upon their assignment, they can effectively implement the values ​​of justice and professionalism in the field,” explained Kombes Pol Bhudi in his statement on Friday, May 15, 2026.

He also stated, that by providing these references, a collective awareness among prospective officers that law enforcement is not merely routine will emerge. It will also foster a collective awareness that every process must be based on legal certainty and the protection of human rights.

During the handover ceremony, an in-depth discussion on the adjusted articles was also held as part of the series of activities held at the Ditreskrimum Building.

The public was also urged to remain calm and support every effort to strengthen the capacity of police personnel.
