Polda of Lampung Police Arrest Two Criminals Who Killed Bripka (Posthumously) Arya Supena, One Shot Dead

progresifjaya.co.id, LAMPUNG – The Polda of Lampung have successfully arrested two criminals in aggravated motor vehicle theft that killed a Polda of Lampung Intelligence and Security Unit officer, Bripka (Posthumously) Arya Supena. One criminal was given decisive and measured action, resulting in his death by a shot after resisting and endangering officers during the arrest.
This was the explanation from Kapolda of Lampung, Irjen Pol Helfi Assegaf, during a press conference at Polda of Lampung Headquarters on Friday, May 15, 2026.
Kapolda Helfi stated, that a joint Polda of Lampung team conducted an operation to arrest the two criminals at two locations on Friday, May 15, 2026. The first criminal, identified as RON or Bahroni, a resident of Teluk Pandan, Pesawaran, was shot dead, while the other, identified as HAM or Hamli, a resident of East Lampung, was apprehended alive.
“We successfully arrested the two perpetrators, HAM and RON. They were arrested in two different locations: in East Lampung for HAM and in Pesawaran for RON,” said Kapolda Helfi.
The pursuit of the two criminals began on May 11, 2026, with the initial arrest of Hamli in East Lampung. Police then moved to surround Bahroni in the Teluk Hantu area of Pesawaran, based on information from the public.
Bahroni, who is strongly suspected of being the perpetrator of the shooting, opened fire on officers using a homemade revolver. Unwilling to die a foolish death, the police responded with decisive, measured action, causing Bahroni to fall backwards, shot dead on the spot.
Kapolda Helfi also explained, that the death of Bripka Arya occurred when the victim attempted to thwart Bahroni’s attempt to break into a motorcycle lock at Yussy Akmal’s shop on Jalan ZA Pagar Alam, Labuhan Ratu Village, Bandar Lampung City, on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at around 6:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time.

A fierce struggle ensued when Bripka Arya brandished his weapon to restrain the perpetrator, who attempted to escape.
“The perpetrator, RON, attempted to free himself, leading to a struggle. The perpetrator eventually took Bripka Arya’s weapon and fired it into Bripka Arya’s head,” said Kapolda Helfi.
After the shooting, the two criminals buried Bripka Arya’s firearm in Hamli’s house to cover their tracks. Bahroni then fled to the Pesawaran area.
Kapolda Helfi also stated, that the investigation revealed that the two criminals were experienced players who frequently operated in Lampung Province.
The body of Bahroni, who was shot dead, has been taken to Bhayangkara Hospital for further investigation. Meanwhile, the human rights criminal, Hamli, who was captured alive, has been charged under Articles 458, 479, and 477 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code. The maximum sentence is life imprisonment.
Concluding his statement, Kapolda Helfi also expressed his deep condolences for the death of Bripka (Posthumously) Arya Supena.
“The Polri have lost one of their best sons, who died in the service of maintaining public security. Therefore, we ensure that the legal process will be carried out to the fullest extent possible for the perpetrator,” Kapolda Helfi said.
