progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polsek Metro of Gambir action was truly jump on it and nail it. They acted quickly, swiftly, and the results were satisfying. This incident occurred while following up on a report of a lost cellphone belonging to a resident under the Jalan Jatibaru Raya flyover in Cideng, Gambir, Central Jakarta. Less than an hour later, the cellphone was found and returned to its owner.

The incident occurred on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at around 3:20 PM WIB. The victim, Dyah Ratnaningtyas, came to the Gambir Metro Police to report the loss of her cellphone. The Polsek Metro of Gambir Rush Ambush (Buser)
immediately went to the scene to investigate.

“As a result, around 4:30 PM WIB, the victim’s cellphone was found by a nearby vendor. The cellphone was then handed over to officers,” said Kapolres Metro of Central Jakarta, Kombes Pol Reynold E.P.  Hutagalung stated in his statement on Sunday, May 17, 2026.

As a leader, he greatly appreciated this incident. He also expressed pride in the swift action of Polsek Metro of Gambir personnel in helping the public find a cellphone that had been reported lost.

“We are committed to providing prompt service to every public report we receive. Alhamdulillah, the victim’s belongings were found and returned,” said the three-jasmine officer from the Sanika Satyawada Battalion, Akpol 2000.

He also stated, that the speed of response of officers in the field is also part of the Polri’s efforts to provide a sense of security and the best service to the public. No matter how small a public report, it must be followed up quickly and professionally so that the public’s presence truly benefits the community.

Separately, Kapolsek Metro of Gambir, AKBP Agus Ady Wijaya, also explained. He said, that after the cellphone was found, the victim first confirmed that the item was indeed his.

“Upon finding it, the officers immediately showed the cellphone to the complainant. The complainant confirmed that it was his, which had been lost,” said AKBP Agus.

The complainant also withdrew the police report after his belongings were found. He was reluctant to pursue legal action.

“The victim also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Polsek Metro of Gambir for their swift response in helping find his cellphone,” AKBP Agus emphasized.
