Kapolda Metro: Robber Hunters Team Has Cracked Down on 6 Robbery Cases in Jakarta

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Kapolda Metro Jaya, Komjen Pol Asep Edi Suheri stated, that robbery is a highly visible issue for the Polda Metro Jaya.  Therefore, the Robber Hunters Team, which was formed last week, has already gone all-in, cracking down on six robbery cases in Jakarta.

“Of course, the formation of the Robber Hunters Task Force, which we formed yesterday, is a direct result of the Polda Metro Jaya’s focus on solving these cases. And we also need to convey that yesterday we solved six cases,” Komjen Pol Asep told reporters at Jakarta City Hall, Central Jakarta, Monday, May 18, 2026.

He also stated, that he has ordered police officers to take firm action against the perpetrators of robbery. He also urged police to act without hesitation in accordance with Police Regulation No. 1 of 2009 concerning the Use of Force in Police Actions.

“And i have ordered the Polda Metro Jaya  to take firm action against perpetrators of crimes. Those who endanger the lives of police officers should not hesitate to take firm and measured action in accordance with Police Regulation Number 1 of 2009 concerning the Use of Force in Police Actions,” stated Kapolda Kang Asep ‘Sniper’.

He also asked the public not to hesitate to report any information related to muggings. They were asked to call the Polri call center at 110.

“I also hope that the public will also help by providing information to our call center at 110 if there are incidents occurring in their areas,” he concluded.

As is known, the Polda Metro Jaya’s Directorate of General Crimes formed a Mugging Hunter Team last week. This team is deployed to vulnerable areas and the surrounding cities of Jakarta.

“We have prepared a 24-hour anti-thug team ready to operate 24/7 to work together to make Jakarta even safer,” said the Director of Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Iman Imanuddin, at the Polda Metro Jaya headquarters on Friday, May 15, 2026.

He stated, that the anti-thug team is deployed to various crime hotspots, including violent theft (curas), aggravated theft (curat), and motor vehicle theft (curanmor). He also stated that the Polda Metro Jaya have mapped these hotspots.

“Furthermore, the areas where these incidents are quite frequent are the buffer zones, Bekasi, Depok, and Tangerang. This is also a focus for us to uncover and suppress the intentions and opportunities of these perpetrators,” he concluded.
