progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya’s Violent Crimes (Jatanras) Sub-Directorate has successfully apprehended four thieves and robbers operating within the Jakarta Metropolitan Police’s jurisdiction. Two of the perpetrators were shot after resisting arrest.

The Director of Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Iman Imanuddin explained, that based on preliminary investigations and the perpetrators’ confessions, these criminals had committed crimes at 190 crime scenes from December 2025 to May 2026.

The arrests of these perpetrators were also carried out in accordance with the Kapolri’s Regulation, the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), and the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP). This is to ensure that every law enforcement action taken by law enforcement officers is based on respect for human rights.

“As you have observed and seen, for four consecutive days, only in situations that endanger public safety and the safety of our officers have we taken firm and measured action against suspects and perpetrators who can be apprehended,” explained Kombes Pol Iman to the media on Friday, May 22, 2026.

He said, that firm and measured action is only taken against perpetrators using firearms. This is based on a calculation of the risk to the safety of both residents and officers.

“We apprehend them without using firm and measured action if they pose a danger. And we inform you all that all suspects against whom we have taken firm and measured action are suspects using firearms,” ​​he explained.

Meanwhile, Head of the Sub-Directorate for Jatanras, AKBP Abdul Rahim stated, that two perpetrators, AE and HI, were subjected to firm and measured action. Currently, the police are still pursuing two perpetrators on the wanted list (DPO), who are associates of the two suspects.

“The initials of the perpetrators we arrested today are two suspects, related to one of them, as explained by the Director earlier. The initials are AE and HI for the violent theft and shooting, one of which occurred in Kebon Jeruk. We have listed two other accomplices as fugitives and are currently pursuing them,” said AKBP Abdul Rahim.
