Happy Saturday Event, Kapolda Metro Jaya Urges Ride-Hailing Drivers to Observe Traffic Rules and Prioritize Health

Kapolda Metro Jaya, Komjen Pol Dadang Hartanto, meets with online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers during a Happy Saturday (Sabtu Bahagia) event.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Kapolda Metro Jaya, Komjen Pol Dadang Hartanto, met with online ride-hailing (ojol) drivers during a Happy Saturday event held in front of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) building at the Polda Metro Jaya headquarters on Saturday, October 31, 2026. The event served as a platform for communication and provided health services for the drivers.

The Polda Metro Jaya Medical and Health Sector (Biddokkes) offered a range of free services, including blood pressure checks, general practitioner consultations, laboratory and dental examinations, pharmacy services, and the provision of medication based on the results of the health screenings.

During the event, Kapolda Dadang reminded the drivers to prioritize their health and safety while on the job.

“Most importantly, take care of your health. If you aren’t healthy, your family will be the ones who suffer. Beyond your health, look after your safety. If you are carrying items, don’t stack them too high—don’t force it. It is better to split the load than to put yourself in danger,” said Kapolda Dadang.

In addition to emphasizing the importance of following traffic regulations and exercising caution on the road, Kapolda Dadang encouraged the ride-hailing community to remain disciplined and not be easily swayed by information or provocations that could incite hatred.

“If you come across such information, practice tabayun—verify it, ask questions, and ensure the facts first,” he advised.

Budi Prihatin, a ride-hailing driver from Depok, shared that he found the event highly beneficial, particularly the health screenings provided. He also expressed appreciation for the guidance regarding safety while working and going about daily activities.

Concluding the meeting, Kapolda Dadang urged the ride-hailing community to maintain open lines of communication and to work together in upholding the security and order of Jakarta.

“Let us look after and protect Jakarta. Together, let’s create a Jakarta that is safe, orderly, and conducive,” said Kapolda Dadang. (Bembo)
