To Facilitate Monitoring of Reported Cases, the Bareskrim Polri Opens a Detective Consultation Service

The Bareskrim Polri has opened a Detective Consultation Service to make it easier for the public to monitor the progress of reported cases.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) has opened a Detective Consultation Service as a facility for the public to obtain information regarding case handling and monitor the progress of Police Reports (LP) transparently, easily, and online.

Through this service, the public can consult via the app or WhatsApp without having to queue in person at the police station.

To request a consultation, the public is simply asked to provide personal information, including their full name, National Identification Number (NIK), and the LP number if they already have one.

The reporter is then asked to explain the chronology of the case and state their complaint. The officer on duty will then contact the reporter to schedule a video conference with the investigator handling the case.

One reporter, identified as NV, admitted to using the service on Friday, June 26, 2026, to file a complaint regarding a police report that she felt had not progressed.

NV suspected that the process of handling her case was stalled or not progressing. Therefore, she requested a consultation to obtain clarity regarding the status of the investigation.

After completing the registration and data verification process, NV was then directed to a video conference room equipped with a large screen to communicate directly with the investigator handling the case.

During the virtual meeting, the investigator explained the progress of the case and provided guidance on the next steps of the legal process. The case’s progress will also be continuously monitored through this service.

During this virtual meeting, NV was received by Senior Policy Analyst for Special Crimes at the Bareskrim Polri, Kombes Pol Dr Muhammad Arsal Sahban, who facilitated the consultation.

After participating in the consultation, NV expressed satisfaction with being able to ask questions directly to the investigator via video conference.

According to NV, the explanation provided made the progress of her case clearer. The case, which had previously been halted, is now proceeding according to established procedures.

By providing this Investigation Consultation Service, the Bareskrim Polri hopes to increase information transparency in the law enforcement process. It will also strengthen communication between investigators and the public, while also making it easier for reporters to monitor case developments without having to visit the police station in person.
