Four employees of the 1XBET gambling site were forcibly taken by Sub-Directorate IV of the Cyber ​​Crime Directorate of the Polda Metro Jaya.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – An international online gambling syndicate operating under the 1XBET network was dismantled by the Polda Metro Jaya ranks of Subdit IV Cyber ​​Crime Directorate (Ditressiber). Four managers of the online gambling site were arrested.

In a statement, the Head of Sub-Directorate IV of the Ditressiber of the Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Grawas Sugiharto explained, that the case was uncovered during a cyber patrol conducted by the Sub-Directorate IV team of the Polda Metro Jaya on May 23, 2026.

“During the patrol, officers discovered information related to the 1XBET website and other websites containing gambling content,” said AKBP Grawas at the Polda Metro Jaya headquarters on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

After conducting an investigation, the Polda Metro Jaya Ditressiber finally apprehended four perpetrators, divided into several clusters in different areas, on June 9, 2026.

AKBP Grawas stated, that the action targeted three main clusters within the 1XBET gambling network.

“The first cluster involved account collectors in the Cianjur area, West Java. The second cluster involved website operators and administrators in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan. The third cluster involved controllers based overseas,” explained AKBP Grawas.

From the Banjarmasin cluster, investigators arrested three suspects with the initials SGR, AC, and WS. All three acted as administrator coordinators, tasked with recording the flow of gambling funds through a text message application, based on instructions from a controller with the initials WN, a foreign national who is currently on the Wanted Persons List (DPO).

“We suspect the involvement of foreign nationals because one DPO, with the initials WN, is overseas. Based on his travel records, he has been in Vietnam and Malaysia,” said AKBP Grawas.

Meanwhile, in the Cianjur cluster, police arrested suspect APS, who acted as a coordinator for recruiting nominee accounts (accounts in other people’s names) to be used as a means of depositing and withdrawing cash for online gambling operations.

He said, that in carrying out his operations since April 2026, APS persuaded rural residents experiencing economic hardship to open bank accounts with the promise of rewards of Rp300.000 to Rp500.000 per account.

“Through this method, suspect APS has created more than 500 accounts, which are then sent overseas,” said Grawas.

Regarding money circulation, police recorded that the network’s turnover since April 2026 has reached more than Rp2 billion.

“We can currently estimate around Rp2 billion, not including other layered accounts that we are currently investigating,” he said.

To date, investigators have blocked 75 accounts directly linked to or functioning as layers in the gambling network, with a total balance seized of Rp119 million. In addition, police also confiscated several pieces of evidence, including mobile phones, laptops, and savings books.

The Ditressiber of the Polda Metro Jaya urges the public not to provide or sell personal data and bank accounts to third parties.

Meanwhile, the suspects are charged under several articles, including online gambling as referred to in Article 27 Paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 45 Paragraph 3, which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment.

Furthermore, gambling as referred to in Article 426 of the Criminal Code carries a maximum sentence of 9 years’ imprisonment and/or Article 427 of the Criminal Code carries a maximum sentence of 3 years’ imprisonment. Money laundering as referred to in Article 607 of the Criminal Code carries a maximum sentence of 15 years’ imprisonment.
