progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Unexpectedly, presenter Ruben Onsu has turned out to be a fraudster. Investigators from the Polres Metro of South Jakarta named him a suspect following allegations of fraud and the embezzlement of investment funds totaling Rp3,5 billion.

Explaining the situation, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Polres Metro of South Jakarta, AKBP Mohammad Iskandarsyah stated, that the alleged fraud came to light after a victim—identified by the initials DM—handed over Rp3,5 billion to Ruben Onsu as initial capital on February 6, 2025.

“The total investment capital of Rp3,5 billion belonged to DM,” said AKBP Iskandar.

However, DM never received the promised profits, resulting in a loss of the full Rp3,5 billion. Ultimately, a report was filed against Ruben in August 2026 by an individual identified by the initials P at the Polres Metro of South Jakarta. The report was registered under number LP310/VIII/2025/SPKT/Polres Jakarta Selatan, dated August 22, 2025.

Ruben has now been officially named a suspect. He is charged under Article 492 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) and/or Article 486 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 618 of the Criminal Code.

The Head of Public Relations for the Polres Metro of South Jakarta, AKP Joko Adi Wibowo added, that according to the report, Ruben had offered the victim an investment opportunity. In short, the victim agreed after being promised a certain return on investment.

“The chronology is that the accused owned a business and offered the victim the chance to invest funds. The victim became interested and entered into an agreement with the accused,” AKP Joko Adi Wibowo told reporters on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

However, when the agreed-upon deadline arrived, Ruben failed to deliver the profits he had promised the victim. 

“When the agreed-upon deadline arrived, no profits had been realized, and the capital had not been returned. Consequently, the victim reported the matter to the Polres Metro of South Jakarta,” said AKP Joko.

“We officially named the individual a suspect just yesterday. Naturally, we will schedule a summons for them to appear as a suspect. We will likely schedule the questioning for next week,” he added. (Bembo)
