The atmosphere at the “Jaga Jakarta” national-spirit gathering, bringing together the Polda Metro Jaya, online motorcycle taxi (ojol) communities, and automotive communities.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA — The Polda Metro Jaya held the “Jaga Jakarta” National Gathering with online ride-hailing driver communities and automotive clubs on Saturday, August 22, 2026. The event served as a forum for fostering camaraderie and strengthening the partnership between the Polri and these communities in maintaining Jakarta’s security and public order.

Held amidst the celebrations for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence, the gathering featured safety riding drills, free motorcycle servicing, health services, driver’s license renewal services, a decorated motorcycle parade, and competitions such as tug-of-war, a sarong relay race, and traditional wooden clog racing.

During the event, the Deputy Chief of the Polda Metro Jaya, Brigjen Pol Dekananto Eko Purwono, invited all participants to pray for the people of East Nusa Tenggara who are currently facing a disaster.

“Amidst the joy of celebrating the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence, let us not forget our brothers and sisters in East Nusa Tenggara who are experiencing a disaster. Let us pray together that they are granted strength, safety, and resilience, and that the situation recovers quickly,” said Brigjen Pol Dekananto.

He further expressed his appreciation to the ride-hailing and automotive communities, who operate directly within the community on a daily basis. He expressed hope that these communities would play a greater role in fostering a culture of traffic discipline and serve as role models in public spaces.

“You are not merely part of Jakarta’s mobility; you are also pioneers of safety, order, and exemplary conduct in maintaining harmony within the community,” he stated.

On this occasion, Brigjen Pol Dekananto also conveyed four key messages, looking out for oneself and others, championing orderliness on the road, strengthening solidarity, and upholding unity and brotherhood among the various communities. 

This national-themed gathering also featured a joint declaration involving the Polda Metro Jaya, online motorcycle taxi communities, and automotive clubs. Police Brigadier General Dekananto expressed hope that this spirit of togetherness would continue to be upheld in daily activities.
