progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – To celebrate Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day, PT Oval and Gardu 08 Indonesia Foundation organized a fun event featuring a unique penalty shootout tournament. Held on Jalan Arwana, RW 02 Pejagalan, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the tournament drew participants of all ages, ranging from youths to older adults.

The tournament followed a simple yet entertaining format. Each team consisted of three kickers competing to score goals in a penalty shootout.

This unique and exciting tournament offered substantial prizes to generate enthusiasm among participants. The first-place winner was set to receive a cash prize of Rp7.000.000, while the runner-up would take home Rp2.000.000. Meanwhile, the third-place winner would receive a consolation prize of Rp1.000.000.

The total prize pool of Rp10.000.000 was funded through the generosity of Agus Salim, the owner of PT Oval and the event’s primary sponsor.

Although the weather at the venue was scorching, it didn’t dampen the festive atmosphere or the enthusiasm of the participants and hundreds of spectators; everyone remained in high spirits and full of joy. Penalty shootout participants gave their all, showcasing their best skills in hopes of becoming champions and winning the top prize. Local small-scale vendors who gathered at the site also enjoyed a windfall, as their goods sold briskly.

Agus Salim, the event’s initiator and Chairman of the Advisory Board of Gardu 08 Indonesia Foundation stated, that the activity was not merely a sports competition but also served as a means to strengthen social bonds among teams and fellow residents. 

“This tournament is about both sports and fostering camaraderie. Prizes will be awarded to the winners by the Chairman of the Gardu 08 Indonesia Foundation, retired Infantry Lieutenant Colonel Soewito. Merdeka!” declared Agus Salim loudly.

According to the latest information, the winner of this unique tournament is from RW 02 Pejagalan. The second place winner is from RW 07, Angke Village, West Jakarta, and the third place winner is also from RW 07, Angke Village, West Jakarta. (Bembo)
