Dewa United FC Targets Three Points in Away Match Against Borneo FC

Dewa United FC squad training session.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Dewa United FC travels to Borneo FC Samarinda’s home ground with the goal of securing a win and taking home three points. For this Matchweek 3 fixture of the 2026-2027 BRI Super League—taking place at Segiri Stadium, Samarinda, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026—Dewa United FC is aiming for a positive result despite facing a packed schedule and limited preparation time.

Dewa United FC faces a tough away match against Borneo FC, a team known as a powerhouse in domestic competition. Nevertheless, Dewa United FC head coach Osmar Loss remains highly confident in his players’ abilities.

The Brazilian coach acknowledged that the team’s preparation time was far from ideal due to the tight match schedule. However, he confirmed that the core game plan has been fully grasped by the squad.

“Our preparation has gone well. Of course, when facing a congested schedule, preparation isn’t always perfect—I mean in terms of time. However, we were able to convey the key ideas to the players, which we believe will help us in tomorrow’s match,” said Osmar Loss as quoted by the official I.League website.

According to him, limited training time is no excuse for Dewa United FC to lack direction on the pitch. Communication and a shared understanding of the strategy are crucial assets for facing Borneo FC on their home turf.

Dewa United has brought a 22-man squad for the trip to Samarinda. Although Ricky Kambuaya is unavailable due to an injury sustained during the preseason, Osmar remains confident in the quality of the available squad.

He believes Dewa United FC’s player composition is strong enough to handle a high-intensity match.

“We’ve brought almost our entire best squad; we have 22 players here in Samarinda. There are, of course, some setbacks—such as Ricky, who unfortunately suffered an injury during the preseason,” said Osmar.

“But i have great faith in the players here. The most important thing is that we are confident we can secure points in this away game, and we have arrived with that confidence,” he added.

That confidence serves as a vital asset for the Banten Warriors, who harbor great ambitions for the current season.

Osmar Loss aims for Dewa United FC to compete at the top of the 2026-2027 Super League standings. Consequently, they will approach every match with a winning mindset.

“We have a major target for Dewa United FC this season. We want to be at the top of the table. That objective drives us to aim for three points in every match,” said Osmar.

Nevertheless, Osmar remains realistic about the increasingly fierce league competition. He acknowledges that every match presents unique challenges, including the upcoming clash against Borneo FC at Segiri Stadium.

“We certainly understand that the league is tough, and we must gauge the intensity of the match to see if we deserve three points or one. However, the most important thing is to keep accumulating points,” Osmar stated.

The match against Pesut Etam offers the Banten Warriors a chance to test their readiness for this season’s competition.

Playing away from home amidst the fervent support of Borneo FC fans will undoubtedly be a unique challenge. Yet, the Banten Warriors arrive confident in their ability to put up a fierce fight.

Osmar hopes the players can execute the prepared strategy and maintain their focus throughout the match.

For Dewa United FC, securing points at Segiri Stadium would be a crucial result in maintaining their ambition to compete at the top of the 2026-2027 Super League.

With a solid squad depth and high confidence, the Banten Warriors are ready to challenge Borneo FC on their home turf. (Bembo)
