progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Edi Saputra Hasibuan, Executive Director of Lemkapi (Indonesian Police Strategic Studies Institute) and an expert on police law at Bhayangkara University Jakarta argues, that unrest and riots occurring abroad do not necessarily impact security and order within Indonesia. He believes, that the Indonesian public has become increasingly mature in responding to international developments and will not be easily provoked by certain parties.
“We are confident that unrest abroad will have no effect here. Why? Because our citizens are intelligent and cannot be easily provoked by others,” explained Edi Saputra Hasibuan on Friday, October 23, 2026.
He noted, that Indonesia’s current political and economic situation is relatively stable. Consequently, he urged all segments of society to help maintain domestic stability, ensuring that the situation remains secure and under control.
In his view, developments abroad should be approached with wisdom. The public is advised not to be easily swayed by unverified information or provocative narratives that could potentially incite unrest.
He also emphasized the importance of everyone’s role in safeguarding national security. The government, security forces, community leaders, and the general public must maintain open communication and avoid exacerbating the situation by spreading information of questionable veracity.
“We call on all parties to play a part in keeping our domestic environment stable and secure,” he said.
He further stressed, that national stability is a collective responsibility. Differences in the political, social, and economic landscapes between Indonesia and other nations should be taken into account, ensuring that the public does not automatically equate unrest abroad with conditions at home.
By maintaining vigilance, strengthening communication, and avoiding being easily provoked, Edi Hasibuan hopes that public security and order in Indonesia can be upheld amidst international dynamics. (Bembo)
