The renewal process is highly streamlined and efficient; it takes just 30 minutes to complete, provided that all requirements have been met.

Head of the Polres Tasikmalaya City Traffic Unit, AKP Haga Deo Harefa stated, that his department is committed to providing optimal service to the public, whether for obtaining a new driver’s license or renewing an existing one.

“We provide the best possible service for those applying for a new driver’s license. As for renewals, the process is quite quick—taking approximately 30 minutes,” said AKP Haga Deo recently.

He explained, that the renewal process is shorter because applicants are not required to undergo the theoretical and practical examinations necessary for obtaining a new license. Instead, applicants simply need to fulfill the specified requirements, which include a medical check-up, a psychological evaluation, and having their photograph taken.

He further noted, that this efficiency is part of the Polres Tasikmalaya City Satpas’s effort to provide responsive public service while educating the community about established service time standards.

“We remain committed to establishing an ‘Integrity Zone’ (WBK) and ensuring transparent fee structures. To this end, we strictly enforce transparent payment methods, ensuring the process is entirely free from illegal levies,” he emphasized.

AKP Haga Deo stated, that all payments for Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) related to driver’s license services must be made through official channels, such as bank counters or EDC (Electronic Data Capture) terminals. Payments are never made in cash directly to officers.

Those wishing to obtain a new driver’s license must fulfill several requirements and complete various stages, ranging from administrative procedures and health screenings to theoretical and practical examinations.

“There are several requirements that must be met by those wishing to obtain a new driver’s license, such as possessing an Indonesian national identity card (KTP), undergoing a health check, and passing both theoretical and practical exams,” he explained.

Applicants for a new SIM must also meet age requirements and hold an electronic national identity card (e-KTP) in accordance with current regulations.

Registration can be completed online via the ‘Digital Korlantas Polri’ mobile application or in person at a Satpas.

In addition to completing the registration process, health and psychological screenings, and the theoretical and practical examinations, applicants for a new driver’s license are also required to pay the official non-tax state revenue (PNBP) fees as stipulated by regulation.
