progresifjaya.co.id, TANGERANG CITY – Two motor vehicle theft fraudsters were arrested by the Tangerang City Metro Polres Criminal Investigation Unit’s Operational Team. The two con artists arrested were MS, also known as Boby, the executor, and TA, also known as Bokir, the receiver.

As a snake, meaning a thief, MS, also known as Boy, is considered a master grifter. He employs a variety of cunning methods to deceive his victims in order to obtain vehicles.

These include borrowing the victim’s vehicle to pretending to offer a job, exploiting their inattention and trust.

He frequently uses the tactic of borrowing the victim’s motorcycle under various pretexts. He then steals it. Meanwhile, tricy, a fraudulent scheme, involves pretending to offer a job through social media chats. After Snake MS, also known as Boy, successfully established trust, he could trick and seize the victim’s vehicle, then sell it to TA, also known as Bokir, who acted as a receiver.

Kapolres Metro of the Tangerang City, Kombes Pol R.M Jauhari, stated in a statement to the media, that the uncovering of these two con artists was the result of an intensive investigation based on reports from the public. The investigation strongly suspected they had operated at at least 30 crime scenes (TKP) in the Greater Tangerang and West Jakarta areas.

“We have successfully confiscated several pieces of important evidence supporting the investigation, such as several motorcycles of various types, a car, and the vehicle’s license plate. We also seized a cell phone used by the perpetrators as a means of communication. This evidence will be key to uncovering the entire network,” explained Kapolres Kombes Pol R.M. Jauhari on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

He also stated, that in each of his actions, Snake MS, also known as Boy, was known to be adept at exploiting victims inattention through direct contact or social media. After obtaining the stolen vehicles, he immediately sold them to a fence, TA, also known as Bokir, at a price far below market value.

Interestingly, TA, also known as Bokir, not only acted as a fence but also as a supporter, supporting MS, also known as Boy’s crimes. Every time he was about to commit a crime, TA, also known as Bokir, always provided operational funds to MS, also known as Boy, as a form of support.

“Therefore, it is strongly suspected that TA, also known as Bokir, was involved as a fence in this case, indicating the existence of an organized network behind this case,” said Kapolres R.M. Jauhari.

Investigators are currently continuing their investigation to uncover the entire motorcycle theft network, including identifying other victims. The primary goal of this investigation is to return evidence to the victims who have been harmed by the crimes of Snake MS, also known as Boy, and TS, also known as Bokir.

Kapolres R.M. Jauhari emphasized, that his team will not stop at the arrest of these two perpetrators. The case will continue to be developed to uncover other networks involved, including those who assisted in the sale of the stolen vehicles.

Meanwhile, given the increasing number of motorcycle theft cases involving fraud, he urged the public to remain vigilant. He also urged them not to lend their vehicles to people they don’t know well.

If they encounter anything suspicious, they are strongly urged to immediately report it to the nearest police station. Alternatively, they can use the police call center at 110 for prompt action. (Bembo)
