progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polri Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) and its regional police (Polda) have again uncovered criminal acts of misuse of subsidized fuel and LPG between April 7 and 20, 2026. During the 13-day period, 330 suspects were apprehended from 223 crime scenes (TKP).

Also accompanying him was the Director of Certain Crimes (Dirtipidter) Bareskrim Polri, Brigjen Pol Moh. Irhamni, and representatives from related agencies were also present on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
In his statement, the Dirtipidter Bareskrim Polri, Brigjen Pol Moh. Irhamni stated, that during the disclosure period from April 7–20, 2026, a significant amount of evidence was secured.
The details of the evidence include: 403.158 liters of diesel fuel, 58.656 liters of Pertalite, 8.473 3-kg LPG cylinders, 322 5,5-kg LPG cylinders, 4.441 12-kg LPG cylinders, 110 50-kg LPG cylinders, and 161 vehicles (R4/R6). During this period, the state suffered an estimated loss of Rp243.069.600.800.
Brigjen Pol Moh. Irhamni explained, that the perpetrators employed various methods in their operations.
These included repeatedly purchasing subsidized fuel from various gas stations to hoard and resell for industrial purposes, or using modified vehicles with large tanks.
“Or using fake license plates to manipulate barcodes, and collaborating with unscrupulous gas station officers to obtain quotas,” he said.
Meanwhile, for LPG, the modus operandi involves transferring the contents of 3 kg cylinders to non-subsidized cylinders.
“Transferring the contents of 3 kg LPG cylinders into 12 kg and 50 kg cylinders, then selling them as non-subsidized LPG,” added Brigjen Pol Irhamni.
Meanwhile, the Wakabareskrim Polri, Irjen Pol Nunung Syaifuddin, stated, that this action will not only target perpetrators in the field but also investigate organized illegal distribution networks.

The Bareskrim Polri held a press conference to uncover criminal acts of misuse of subsidized fuel and LPG between April 7 and 20, 2026.
He emphasized, that the Polri will remain consistent in prosecuting all networks involved in the misuse of subsidized fuel and LPG, including by applying multiple laws.
“We have ordered all investigators to trace the flow of funds and profits from these crimes by applying the Money Laundering Crime (TPPU) articles, in collaboration with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK),” said the Wakabareskrim Polri.
The Polri will also continue to strengthen synergies with various ministries and institutions, such as the Attorney General’s Office, the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), the TNI Military Police Center (Puspom TNI), Pertamina, and the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas) to crack down on this misuse.
On this occasion, Irjen Pol Nunung also urged the public and the media to play an active role in monitoring energy distribution.
“Immediately report any practices of hoarding, adulteration, cylinder modification, the sale of subsidized fuel above the official price, or the improper distribution of 3-kg LPG,” he urged.
Concluding his statement, the Wakabareskrim Polri also emphasized that there will be zero tolerance for those who abuse energy subsidies. He continued, Polri has a firm commitment to eradicating these illegal practices.
