progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA — A group of 100 workers gathered at the House of Representatives (DPR) and People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) on Friday, May 1, 2026. The public gathering, commemorating Labor Day or May Day 2026, remained safe, controlled, and conducive. Traffic flow in front of the DPR/MPR building was also observed to be smooth, with no traffic diversions observed.
The workers speaking at the DPR/MPR were from the Agrarian Reform Movement Alliance, the Indonesian Migrant Workers Union, and the Youth Struggle Center.
“Welcome to the workers’ aspirations. The Polda Metro Jaya is ready to escort and serve our fellow workers and other members of society who are expressing their aspirations in an orderly and peaceful manner,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto, on Friday, May 1, 2026.
He also explained, that some representatives of the protesters had been facilitated into the DPR/MPR RI Building to meet face-to-face with DPR members. This meeting provided a space for protesters to express their aspirations and demands directly.
According to Kombes Pol Bhudi, the Polda Metro Jaya continues to prioritize a humane service approach to overseeing the expression of opinions in public. Officers are present to ensure that public activities proceed safely and orderly, while respecting citizens’ rights to express their aspirations.
“We urge all protesters to maintain order, respect other road users, and follow the directions of officers on the ground. Let’s work together to keep Jakarta safe, comfortable, and conducive,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi.
