“It’s still under investigation,” said Head of the Traffic Accident Unit of the Polres Metro of East Jakarta, AKP Darwis Yunarta, in a statement on Sunday, May 3, 2026.

The hit-and-run incident occurred on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. WIB. The identity of the Pajero driver remains unknown.

AKP Darwis said that, based on witness statements at the scene, the Pajero was traveling west to east on Jalan Raya Kalimalang. The vehicle then hit the victim, who was crossing the road from north to south.

“Upon arriving near the Agraria bus stop in the Duren Sawit area, East Jakarta, he was involved in a traffic accident and hit a fruit cart vendor who was crossing the road from north to south,” explained AKP Darwis.

The victim of the hit-and-run is currently being treated at the Kramat Jati Polri Hospital. He suffered head injuries, a broken finger, and other bruises.
