Sufmi Dasco Gathers State-Owned Bank Bosses to Discuss Buyback Opportunities

Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, gathered state-owned bank executives to discuss opening up share buyback opportunities.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, made a breakthrough by convening the directors of the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara), along with Dony Oskaria, Chairman of the State-Owned Enterprises Supervisory Agency (BP BUMN), Chief Operating Officer of Daya Anagata Nusantara (BPI Danantara), and Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi.

The SOE representatives were also present, including Hery Gunardi, President Director of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBRI), Putrama Wahju Setyawan, President Director of PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBNI), and Riduan, President Director of PT Bank Mandiri.

Sufmi Dasco gathered these state-owned bank bosses to discuss the current stock market volatility, including the plunge in state-owned banking stocks.

“This morning we’re coordinating. We’ll be discussing a lot about the market, especially state-owned enterprise stocks,” said Sufmi Dasco before starting the closed-door meeting at the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Nusantara III building in Jakarta, Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, gathered state-owned bank executives to discuss opening up share buyback opportunities.

He explained, that state-owned bank stocks have strong fundamentals and performance. However, along with the turmoil in the global market, the shares of state-owned bank companies (Himbara) have also plummeted.

“They were actually doing well, but then the global market situation had an impact,” explained Sufmi Dasco.

During this meeting, Dasco also discussed opening up share buyback opportunities.

“It’s time for us to discuss it, and then we’ll have the right opportunity to re-buy shares in the market,” he explained.
