progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polda Metro Jaya is preparing the Road to E-Sports Tournament Kapolda Cup 2026 as part of the series leading up to the 2026 Kapolri Cup E-Sports Tournament. The event, themed “Dream to Become,” provides a creative outlet for Gen Z to channel their interests and talents in electronic sports, or e-sports.
The tournament is being held in stages, starting from the Police Resort (Polres) level, then the Regional Police (Polda), and ending with the National Grand Final. With this strategy, the Polda Metro Jaya aims to attract young talent from various regions while encouraging the development of high-achieving, disciplined, and highly sportsmanlike e-sports athletes.
This event also demonstrates the Polri’s support for the development of e-sports as a modern sport with a development ecosystem, competitive standards, and creative economic potential. This tournament should not be viewed simply as entertainment, but also as a platform for development for the younger generation.
The Head of Public Relations for the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto explained in a statement, that the Polri is always present to support positive youth activities that foster creativity, achievement, and a spirit of togetherness.
“This tournament provides a platform for Gen Z to channel their interests and talents in a positive way. We want e-sports to be a space for achievement, not just entertainment. It should be a means to build sportsmanship, discipline, and a healthy competitive spirit,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi.
Based on the event concept, the tournament’s target participation is 1.664 teams, with a total of approximately 8.320 participants. Each Polres will hold qualifications to determine the first, second, and third place winners who will advance to the Polda level. After that, the Polda level winners will become delegates to compete at the national level.
The tournament format will be a single-elimination system with a Best of Three (BO3) mechanism in the initial phase, and a Best of Five (BO5) mechanism in the semifinals and finals. All matches will adhere to integrity principles, including supervision by professional referees, a prohibition on the use of third-party applications, and strict sanctions for violations.
Kombes Pol Bhudi also stated, that this tournament will further strengthen the Police’s relationship with the community through creative and digital spaces that are accessible to the younger generation. The event will also be publicized through digital channels and traditional media to ensure its positive message reaches a wider audience.
“Through this event, we encourage Gen Z to continue creating, achieving, and using technology wisely. Let’s make e-sports a positive space for building a better future,” said Kombes Pol Bhudi enthusiastically.
