Motorcycle theft bandits in Kebon Jeruk were arrested and shot first by the Sub-Directorate of the Resmob Ditreskrimum of the Polda Metro Jaya.

According to video footage of the arrest on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, the arrest of the two bandits took place in the parking lot of a minimarket in the Kebon Jeruk area of ​​West Jakarta.

The arrest occurred when the two bandits attempted to seize the officers’ firearms. However, they were unsuccessful, as the officers shot them in the legs.

The video footage also shows the two bandits handcuffed with red cable clamps and lying face down as officers confiscated several pieces of evidence, including a revolver, eight bullets, a T-shaped wrench, and a cellphone.

In a statement, Chief of Unit 1 of the Resmob Sub-Directorate of the Polda Metro Jaya’s Criminal Investigation Directorate, AKP Pendi Wibison explained, that the two arrested bandits played different roles. Bandit RJ acted as the executor, and bandit H acted as the jockey. The two attempted to steal a motorcycle belonging to a minimarket employee. The victim, no less resourceful, immediately reported the crime to the police.

“We have arrested two individuals with the initials RJ (20) and H (38). RJ (20) acted as the executor, and H (38) as the jockey,” said AKP Pendi Wibison on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

After apprehending RJ and H, officers then conducted further investigation and apprehended AS (29), who was receiving stolen goods in the Kebon Jeruk area.

Head of the Resmob Sub-Directorate of the Polda Metro Jaya’s Ditreskrimum, AKBP Resa Fiardi Marasabessy, also added.He said, a minimarket employee lost his motorcycle while on his way home from work in the minimarket parking lot in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.

The victim was shocked to see the motorcycle he had left in the parking lot in front of the minimarket missing.

“CCTV footage shows two unknown men taking the reporter’s motorcycle at 5:28 PM WIB. The incident was reported to the Polsek of Tambora for further investigation,” Resa said in a written statement.

Using CCTV footage, investigators then identified the perpetrators. Their whereabouts were later tracked in the North Sukabumi area, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, in the early hours of Saturday, July 4, 2026.
