Polda Metro Resmob Unit Arrests Suspect in Legless Body Case in Depok

The perpetrator of the legless-body murder in Depok is identified as Saeful, the scene where the victim was found mutilated.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Mobile Detective (Resmob) Sub-directorate of the Polda Metro Jaya has successfully arrested the suspect involved in the case of a legless male corpse found in Pancoran Mas, Depok. The suspect is identified as Saeful (26), while the victim was Kunaefi (51).

“That is correct, the suspect has been arrested,” said the Head of the Resmob Sub-directorate, AKBP Ressa Fiardi Marasabessy, to reporters on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

The suspect is currently undergoing intensive questioning at the Polda Metro Jaya headquarters. Investigators have not yet disclosed the details of the arrest or the suspect’s motive.

“We are still investigating the matter further,” stated AKBP Ressa.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit at the Polres Metro of Depok, AKBP Made Gede Oka Utama, also confirmed the arrest. “That is correct, the arrest has been made,” he said separately.

This gruesome case came to light after a witness discovered a suspicious sack in a vacant lot in Pancoran Mas, Depok, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

Initially, the witness thought the sack contained trash and proceeded to burn it. However, the fire revealed the sack’s contents.

The Head of Public Relations for the Polres Metro of Depok, AKP Hendra, stated, that the victim was found naked with his hands tied. His head was covered with a black plastic bag.

“When found, the body had its hands tied and was wrapped in a sack and black plastic,” said AKP Hendra.

Even more horrifying, there was a slash wound on the victim’s neck, indicating murder. Both of the victim’s legs were missing, severed at the groin.

“There was a slash wound on the neck. The head, both hands, and torso were intact. Both legs were missing up to the groin,” he explained.

New facts have emerged revealing that the sack containing the body had actually been at the location since July 24, 2026, however, residents at the time were unaware of its contents.  The victim’s remains have been transported to the Kramat Jati Polri Hospital in East Jakarta for an autopsy to determine the identity and exact cause of death.

Police are continuing to investigate the case, including searching for the missing severed leg and the motive behind the gruesome mutilation.
