progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The leadership of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) held a meeting with several cabinet ministers from the agrarian sector to discuss strategic issues deemed urgent to resolve.
The meeting was chaired by DPR RI Deputy Speaker, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, accompanied by two other leaders, Cucun Ahmad Syamsurizal (PKB) and Saan Mustopa (NasDem).
Government representatives in attendance included Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid, and various relevant deputy ministers.
“This meeting is being held to discuss strategic matters and agrarian conflicts that urgently require resolution,” said Sufmi Dasco while presiding over the meeting at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
He didn’t disclose the specific urgent issues in question. However, he stated that the DPR and the government must coordinate immediately because the DPR’s Special Committee (Pansus) on Agrarian Affairs has been unable to achieve significant results.
“If we look at the grand design regarding this Agrarian Reform (KPA), it will certainly take a long time. Meanwhile, the Agrarian Special Committee formed by the DPR has not yet been able to produce much,” he explained during the meeting.
Following the meeting, State Secretary Prasetyo stated, that the government has formed an inter-ministerial team to resolve various agrarian cases. The meeting, Pras noted, highlighted issues such as 73.000 hectares of rice fields that are officially classified as forest areas.
“These are the types of cases that can be resolved more quickly and are widespread,” he remarked. (Bembo)
