progresifjaya.co.id, SUBANG – Regarding the persistent reports of illegal levies at the Polres of Subang Traffic Unit’s Driver’s License Issuance Center (Satpas), the Head of the Polres of Subang Traffic Unit, AKP M. Hardian Andrianto, stated that these reports are untrue and merely based on opinion. He also emphasized that all processes for issuing and renewing driver’s licenses at the facility are carried out in accordance with established procedures.

“The fees for creating and renewing driver’s licenses are regulated by Government Regulation Number 76 of 2020 concerning Types and Tariffs for Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP). That is the procedure we follow at the Polres of Subang Satpas,” he asserted on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

Previously, several online media outlets had repeatedly reported on alleged illegal levies at the Polres of Subang  Satpas. Some even disseminated these reports on social media platforms like TikTok. There were also threats to report the alleged illegal levies to high-ranking officials, such as the West Java Regional Police Chief (Kapolda), the West Java Regional Police Traffic Director (Dirlantas), the National Police Traffic Corps Chief (Kakorlantas), and even the National Police Chief (Kapolri).

Regarding this style of media attack, Edwar, the Chairman of the West Java Regional Chapter of the NGO Indonesia Morality Watch (IMW) advised, that the situation be confronted directly and dealt with firmly—especially given the element of verbal intimidation involved.

“I have read several of the reports in question. In my assessment, they are all lies and fabrications by the writers. There is no concrete data proving the alleged claims. It is all merely the writers’ opinion—claiming applicant ‘A’ was charged this much, or applicant ‘B’ was asked for that much money. There is no clarity regarding the subjects or objects in the writing,” he remarked.

Regarding this type of media reporting, he advised the Polres of Subang Traffic Unit to push back and immediately file a formal police report (LP).  Beyond the fact that such conduct is contrary to journalistic standards, the act of verbal intimidation coupled with alleged extortion—demanding money—constitutes a criminal offense.

“Their reporting—which alleges illegal levies accompanied by threats and intimidation—amounts to a criminal act. In addition to the Criminal Code, they are also liable under the ITE Law for disseminating false information. Report this to the Cyber ​​Crime unit immediately so it can be processed and serve as a deterrent,” asserted Edwar. (Bembo)
