Rahmat Dimas, the perpetrator who killed an ojol driver, reenacts the scene during the murder reconstruction.
progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Investigators from the Mobile Detective Unit (Resmob) of the Polda Metro Jaya conducted a reenactment—or reconstruction—of the murder and robbery of an online motorcycle taxi (ojol) driver (identified by the initials ATP) committed by Rahmat Dimas in Tangerang City, Banten. Rahmat Dimas acted out 23 scenes during the reconstruction, which proceeded in a safe and orderly manner.
Kompol Arief Ryzki Wicaksana, Head of Unit V of the Resmob Sub-directorate told the media, that the moment of Rahmat Dimas’s brutal act was depicted in the eighth scene. In this scene, Rahmat Dimas viciously stabbed the victim—who was asleep at the time—to death.
“Scene number 8 involves the perpetrator stabbing the victim, who was asleep at the stall at that moment,” said Kompol Arief on Monday, August 25, 2026.
Currently, investigators are still finalizing the case file. They are also awaiting the prosecutor’s review of the file.
For context, the stabbing occurred at an online motorcycle taxi gathering spot in the Kosambi area, Tangerang City, on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 03:50 WIB. At the time, the victim, ATP, was asleep when he was suddenly stabbed by an unidentified person.
The perpetrator, Rahmat Dimas, was arrested on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 00:30 WIB at a rented house on Jalan Bunderan Kamal, Kamal Muara, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. He was shot during the arrest because he resisted.
Kompol Arief stated, that Rahmat Dimas claimed he killed the driver and stole his motorcycle because he was under financial pressure regarding wedding expenses.
“Regarding the perpetrator’s motive, during interrogation, he admitted to being under pressure in his personal life, having been forced by his parents to get married soon,” said Kompol Arief.
The perpetrator claimed he had originally carried the knife with the intention of taking his own life. However, while passing the location, he saw the victim asleep, which prompted an intention to commit theft.
“After seeing the victim fast asleep, the perpetrator tried to reach into the victim’s pocket to take the keys—specifically, the motorcycle keys. As he was reaching into the pocket to take the keys, the victim suddenly jerked awake and put up a fight, causing the perpetrator to stab the victim,” he further explained. (Bembo)
