progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The 2026/2027 Super League season kicks off today, Friday, September 4, 2026. Dewa United Banten FC is approaching the season with serious intent, fielding a squad bolstered by several new signings.
Dewa United Banten FC has set its sights high this season. The Banten Warriors are aiming to clinch the title in Indonesia’s top-flight football competition.
This ambition is evident in the management’s decision to appoint Brazilian coach Osmar Loss Veira to lead the team.
Osmar Loss is no stranger to Asian football. He first garnered attention after achieving success with Persepolis in Iran and Buriram United in Thailand.
His most notable achievements came during his tenure at Buriram United. In the 2024/2025 season, Osmar Loss led the Thai club to a historic quadruple—winning four titles in a single season.
These four trophies included the Thai League, Thai FA Cup, Thai League Cup, and the ASEAN Club Championship.
Prior to that, Osmar Loss also enjoyed success with Persepolis. He guided the club to two Iranian League titles (2022/2023 and 2023/2024) and an Iranian Cup victory in the 2022/2023 season.
Dewa United’s management hopes that his experience and trophy-winning pedigree will bring the championship title to the Tanah Para Jawara.
This championship goal goes hand-in-hand with Dewa United FC’s activity in the transfer market.
Management has endeavored to assemble a competitive squad for Osmar Loss to mold into a force capable of contending at the top of the Super League table.
Several key players from the previous season have been retained, including Egy Maulana Vikri, Ricky Kambuaya, Rafael Struik, Ivar Jenner, and Noah Sadaoui.
The Banten Warriors have also brought in new signings, such as Denilson Junior, Carlos Lury, Ko Myeong-seok, and Muhammad Riyandi. Denilson Junior stands out as one of the most notable signings. He was brought in from Chiangrai United following a productive previous season in which he recorded 15 goals and seven assists.
Carlos Lury was also recruited from Chiangrai United, while Ko Myeong-seok joined the squad after previously playing for Buriram United.
This blend of experienced players, fresh talent, and the expert guidance of Osmar Loss provides Dewa United Banten FC with a strong foundation to achieve its ambitious goals. Tomorrow’s away match against Persik Kediri—scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2026—will serve as the first test in realizing that ambition. (Bembo)
