progresifjaya.co.id, SOUTH TANGERANG — As the search enters its seventh day for five journalists and three boat crew members who lost contact in the waters of the Sunda Strait, Kapolres of South Tangerang, AKBP Boy Jumalolo visited the family of one of the journalists, Donal Husni, in the Ciater Permai area of ​​Serpong on Monday, September 14, 2026. The visit served as a gesture of support for the family, who are still awaiting news of their loved one.

Amidst an atmosphere filled with hope, AKBP Boy listened to the family’s accounts and encouraged them to remain optimistic while the search operation continues.

“The most important thing right now is to continue supporting and praying for one another. We hope that the five fellow journalists and three crew members will soon be found safe and sound,” he said.

The eight individuals currently being sought include five journalists—M. Bagus Khoirunnas (Antara), Ari Basuki (Merdeka), Yudhis (iNews), Daus (Anadolu), and Donal Husni (freelance)—and three boat crew members, Warta, Surakman, and Heriyanto. They were known to be aboard a single speedboat after completing a reporting assignment on developments regarding Mount Anak Krakatau.

The search operation is ongoing, with the sweep area expanding as far as Enggano Island in Bengkulu on the eighth day. Basarnas Banten (National Search and Rescue Agency), alongside the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL), the Polri, and relevant agencies, has deployed 18 vessels and one helicopter. The maritime search has been divided into six sectors and is being bolstered by aerial sweeps.

The Head of Public Relations for the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto, also conveyed his support to the families awaiting news.
