progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – Dewa United FC’s Japanese winger, Taisei Marukawa, has initiated the naturalization process to become an Indonesian citizen.

This move has been welcomed positively by Dewa United FC President Ardian Satya, who fully supports the player’s desire to obtain Indonesian citizenship.

“We certainly hope Taisei’s naturalization process proceeds smoothly. As a club, we will definitely support the process,” Ardian said in an official club statement on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

“He has lived and pursued his career in Indonesia for five years. So, in terms of his environment and daily life, he is already very close to Indonesia,” he added.

Taisei Marukawa began his career in Indonesia in 2021. The 29-year-old player initially played for Persebaya, then PSIS Semarang, and has been with Dewa United FC since the 2024/2025 season.

Having spent five consecutive years in Indonesia, Taisei Marukawa is considered deeply familiar with Indonesian culture. The player, born in Higashi, Hiroshima, is even able to speak Indonesian.

“We can see for ourselves that Taisei is already able to speak Indonesian quite confidently. That demonstrates how well he has adapted during his time here,” Ardian noted.

Ardian believes that the extensive experience of the 2021/2022 Indonesian League’s best player could prove valuable should the Indonesian National Team require his services in the future.

“Taisei has considerable experience playing in the Indonesian League. He understands the nature of the competition and has faced numerous situations during his time playing in Indonesia,” he said.

“We hope that his experience, speed, creativity, and explosiveness will allow him to make a positive contribution if he gets the opportunity to play for the Indonesian National Team,” he continued. (Bembo)
