progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA – The Polri will mobilize all its resources to ensure security and peace throughout the 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup tournament, particularly through the Polda Metro Jaya and the Polda of West Java.

This statement was made by the Deputy Assistant for Operations to the Kapolri, Irjen Pol Laksana, in Jakarta on Monday, September 21, 2026.

“We will deploy the full force of the Polri, specifically the Polda Metro Jaya and the Polda of West Java. We are not acting alone in carrying out these security measures; therefore, we also urge the public in Jakarta and West Java to assist in maintaining safety,” said Irjen Pol Laksana.

The 2026 FIFA ASEAN Cup is the inaugural edition of the tournament organized by FIFA, featuring 14 teams—comprising the 11 ASEAN member nations and three invited teams. The competition is divided into two divisions, with Division 1 taking place in Indonesia and Division 2 in Hong Kong, China.

The introduction of the FIFA ASEAN Cup adds a new dimension to the football landscape in Southeast Asia by bringing ASEAN nations together in a regional tournament sanctioned by FIFA. For Indonesia, hosting this event serves as an opportunity to demonstrate its readiness to stage matches that are safe, orderly, and enjoyable for all football fans.

The Head of Public Relations for the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto, also called upon the public—especially supporters—to help maintain security and order throughout the tournament.
