Polres of Kuningan personnel conducting a cleanup operation at Pasar Baru and the Citamba River ahead of the rainy season.
progresifjaya.co.id, KUNINGAN – In an effort to anticipate potential flooding and waste accumulation ahead of the rainy season, the Polres of Kuningan organized a simultaneous environmental cleanup drive on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
The activity, which began at 09:00 WIB, focused on two strategic locations that serve as hubs for community activity, the Pasar Baru area and the stretch of the Citamba River in Kuningan Regency.
This cleanup operation involved joint personnel from various units, including the Public Order Unit (Sat Samapta), Traffic Unit (Sat Lantas), and the Polsek of Kuningan. Working collaboratively, the personnel cleared away accumulated silt, plastic waste, and other materials that could potentially obstruct water channels and the river’s flow.
Kapolres of Kuningan, AKBP Bellen Anggara Pratama stated, that this community service activity was a preventive measure reflecting the police force’s commitment to maintaining environmental cleanliness. It also aimed to prevent water pooling and flooding as rainfall intensity increases.
“In addition to anticipating water overflow along the Citamba River and in the Pasar Baru area, this activity serves as an educational opportunity for vendors and local residents, encouraging them not to litter—a habit that can trigger flooding,” said AKBP Bellen.
This environmental initiative was well-received by market vendors and local residents. They greatly appreciated the police force’s concern for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring the smooth flow of the river as the rainy season approaches. (Bembo)
