progresifjaya.co.id, KUNINGAN – The Traffic Unit of the Polres of Kuningan conducted an educational outreach initiative under the Police as Friends of the Younger Generation program by visiting SMP Negeri 1 Selajambe on Thursday, October 15, 2026. The activity aimed to instill discipline and raise awareness regarding traffic laws among junior high school students.
The outreach and guidance session, which began at 07:00 AM, was attended by the Head of the Polres of Kuningan Traffic Unit, AKP Aktuin Moniharapon, accompanied by the unit’s Operations Supervisor (Kaur Bin Ops) and other traffic unit personnel.
Addressing the students and teachers, the officers provided essential educational material, including the importance of traffic ethics from an early age, the prohibition against minors—who do not yet possess a driver’s license (SIM)—operating motor vehicles, and the mandatory use of Indonesian National Standard (SNI) helmets, properly fastened, when being transported by parents or guardians.
Through this program, the Head of the Polres of Kuningan Traffic Unit, AKP Aktuin Moniharapon, also emphasized the prevention of traffic violations, such as the use of non-compliant, loud exhaust pipes (brong exhausts) and participation in illegal street racing.
Furthermore, students received guidance on preventing juvenile delinquency, the dangers of joining motorcycle gangs, bullying, inter-school brawls, and drug abuse.
It is hoped, that this initiative will empower students at SMP Negeri 1 Selajambe to become pioneers of traffic safety, while fostering a harmonious synergy between the police and the school to cultivate a law-abiding younger generation in Kuningan Regency. (Bembo)
