progresifjaya.co.id, BANDUNG – The three-year kidnapping and abuse case involving a woman named Yuvita Tri Rezeki, also known as YTR, in Bandung Regency continues to reveal shocking new facts.
Following the successful arrest of suspect Taufik Hidayat, the Polda of West Java (Jabar) fully revealed the chronology of the relationship between the victim and the perpetrator, the alleged motive for the violence, and the multiple articles charged.
Furthermore, the victim’s family also expressed a firm stance after the perpetrator, Taufik Hidayat, publicly apologized without remorse.
The victim, Yuvita Tri Rezeki, also known as YTR, is currently undergoing treatment for serious injuries resulting from repeated abuse and prolonged imprisonment for up to three years.
The following are some of the latest facts revealed in the development of the case, compiled as of Saturday, June 27, 2026.
1. The victim first met the perpetrator through the Tinder app

The press conference regarding the kidnapping and assault case involving the perpetrator, Taufik Hidayat, against the victim, Yuvita Tri Rezeki, also known as YTR.
Kapolda of West Java, Irjen Pol Rudi Setiawan, revealed that the relationship between the victim and the suspect began in 2024 after they met through the dating app Tinder.
“The acquaintance began in 2024 through Tinder. They met, felt close, started a relationship, and then moved in together in a boarding house,” said Kapolda Rudi.
During their relationship, the victim and the perpetrator moved several times. Police have identified four boarding houses where the two had lived, and crime scenes have been processed at all locations.
2. The victim’s family lost track of her.

Before disappearing, Yuvita Tri Rezeki, also known as YTR, was known to have worked for a company in the Pasteur area of Bandung City. The victim told her family she was moving to Majalengka Regency because she received a higher salary offer.
However, after further investigation, the family was unable to locate the victim at the location.
“The family tried to communicate via Facebook because the victim’s phone number could not be reached. The victim initially responded that the family should not bother her because she felt she was already an adult,” explained Irjen Pol Rudi.
The family also received information that the victim worked for a television media company in Jakarta. However, an investigation revealed this information to be false.
The victim’s whereabouts were finally discovered after the family received news that Yuvita Tri Rezeki, also known as YTR, was being treated at Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung for serious injuries suspected to be the result of repeated confinement and abuse.
3. Investigators Reveal Allegations of Torture Suffered by the Victim
Based on the preliminary investigation, investigators suspect the victim experienced various forms of violence while with the suspect.
“The perpetrator burned the victim’s body with a cigarette and repeatedly hit the victim in the face. The perpetrator also confines the victim by locking her in a room and leaving her helpless,” said Kapolda Rudi.
Investigators also suspect the perpetrator used various means of violence, including his bare hands, blunt objects, and sharp objects, causing the victim to suffer serious injuries to several parts of his body.
As a result of these actions, the victim experienced visual impairment, difficulty speaking, and was unable to walk normally.
4. The perpetrator is said to have a high temper and was driven by jealousy

The victim of Yuvita Tri Rezeki, also known as YTR, was held captive for three years and suffered severe abuse.
Kapolda Rudi explained, that based on the results of the investigation with the suspect’s family, the perpetrator, Taufik, was known to have a temperamental personality.
“Information from his family indicates that the suspect is indeed temperamental. If he doesn’t get what he wants, he tends to resort to violence,” he explained.
Furthermore, the suspect is known to have a habit of consuming alcohol, is highly jealous of the victim, and admits to experiencing pressure from his work as a debt collector.
Investigators explained that the alleged violence was committed repeatedly because the perpetrator was overcome with irritation and jealousy toward the victim.
“This was done repeatedly out of frustration and jealousy toward the victim,” said Kapolda Rudi.
In this case, investigators involved a psychiatrist to assess the suspect’s psychological condition as part of the investigation.
5. Faces a maximum prison sentence of 12 years
The Polda of West Java have named Taufik Hidayat as a suspect in the kidnapping and assault of Yuvita Tri Rezeki, also known as YTR.
The suspect is charged under multiple articles, including Article 466 paragraph (2), Article 451, Article 446 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 126 paragraph (2), and Article 23 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP), which carries a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison.
“Judging by the incident and his actions, this suspect committed an unnatural and sadistic act. We condemn this kind of violence. Therefore, the Polda of West Java will maximize the application of the articles so that the suspect receives an appropriate sentence,” Kapolda Rudi emphasized.
“We ask for everyone’s support so that the violence committed by the suspect receives an appropriate sentence.”
“We also express our deep sorrow and concern over this incident. Our women should be safe and protected. This is a concern for us all,” he said.
6. The perpetrator apologized, but the victim’s family refused

During a press conference at the Polda of West Java Headquarters, Taufik Hidayat apologized to the victim and her family.
“I apologize, i was wrong, i regret it, i apologize,” he said.
However, the victim’s family immediately rejected the apology. The victim’s older brother, Afif Shandy, considered the perpetrator’s actions too cruel to forgive.
“As for me, from the family, there’s no apology. He easily apologized, while Vita was already devastated. He only apologized. There’s no apology,” he said.
Afif even vented his anger, hoping the perpetrator would be handed over to the family.
“I don’t want the perpetrator sentenced to death. I want him handed over to the family, so i can judge him. I’ve seen my sister suffer. The sister i was so proud of was destroyed by him,” Afif asserted.
“I don’t mind if the authorities sentence him to one or two years. What’s important is that he hands him over to the family for one or two years. Let me gouge out his eyes to pay for his cruelty in gouging out my sister’s eyes,” he added angrily.
The father of the victim, Yuvita Tri Rezeki, also known as YTR, also hopes that law enforcement will impose the maximum sentence on the suspect.
“Hopefully, they’ll give him the harshest sentence possible,” he said hopefully.
In addition to the ongoing legal process, West Java Governor, Dedi Mulyadi has also confirmed that the West Java Provincial Government will cover all of the victim’s medical expenses until he recovers. The Rp250 million prize, previously set aside for the perpetrator’s arrest, has also been decided to be given to the victim’s family as a future provision.
