progresifjaya.co.id, KUNINGAN — The Traffic Unit (Satlantas) of the Polres Kuningan through its Traffic Safety Education Unit (Unit Kamsel), acted swiftly to address a reported case of bullying among students at SD Negeri 1 Kapandayan. Under the “Polisi Peduli Pendidikan” program, the Polres Kuningan Traffic Unit initiated a mediation process—a problem-solving approach rooted in restorative justice and an amicable, family-oriented spirit. This proactive measure took place on Thursday, October 22, 2026.
The mediation session, which began at 09:30 WIB, was overseen by the Head of the Polres Kuningan Traffic Unit, AKP Aktuin Moniharapon. Also in attendance were the Head of the Traffic Safety Education Unit, personnel from the Polsek Ciawigebang, the school principal and teaching staff, representatives from the School Committee, and the parents or guardians of the students involved.
During the meeting, the police facilitated an open dialogue between the parents of the student who was bullied and the parents of the student who engaged in the bullying. Furthermore, officers provided insights into the long-term psychological impact of bullying and offered education regarding the Child Protection Law.
AKP Aktuin Moniharapon, Head of the Polres Kuningan Traffic Unit stated, that the presence of the police in the school environment is not solely for law enforcement, but also to provide humanistic solutions and psychological protection for children.
“Through the ‘Police Care for Education’ program, we aim to ensure that the school environment remains a safe, comfortable, and child-friendly space. We encourage the school and parents to strengthen supervision and improve child-rearing practices, both at home and at school,” said AKP Aktuin.
The mediation proved successful; both parties agreed to resolve the issue peacefully and to forgive one another, leaving no room for lingering resentment. This positive moment was formalized through the signing of a mutual agreement—reached via consensus—witnessed by the police, the school, and the school committee.
Following the establishment of this agreement, the school has committed to tightening supervision during high-risk periods, such as recess and dismissal times. This measure is intended to anticipate and prevent any potential instances of physical, verbal, or cyberbullying in the future. A wise move! (Bembo)
