progresifjaya.co.id, CIAMIS – The Polres Ciamis continue to demonstrate a strong commitment to the world of education through their “Police Care for Education” (Polisi Peduli Pendidikan) initiative—part of the Kapolri’s priority programs. This initiative aims to build character among the younger generation, curb juvenile delinquency, and raise student awareness regarding the importance of maintaining safety and public order.
Most recently, the program was held in the hall of SMP Negeri 2 Ciamis on Monday, October 26, 2026, from 07:20 AM to 08:00 AM.
The event was attended by Kapolres Ciamis, AKBP Eko Iskandar, the Head of the Community Policing Unit (Kasat Binmas) of the Polsek Ciamis, the school principal, teachers, and student representatives from SMP Negeri 2 Ciamis.
During the session, Kapolres Eko provided guidance and education to the students regarding various issues that could threaten their future. A primary focus was the prevention of bullying—whether physical, verbal, or occurring via social media.
Students were encouraged to respect one another, foster healthy friendships, and have the courage to report any instances of bullying—whether experienced personally or witnessed—to their teachers or the relevant authorities.
Kapolres Eko also warned students to steer clear of motorcycle gangs, which are often linked to criminal activity, illegal street racing, and brawls. Furthermore, students were urged to observe curfew hours and avoid the misuse of drugs, illicit substances, and alcohol—all of which can severely damage both their health and their future prospects.
Kapolres Eko emphasized, that students must be capable of looking after themselves, adhering to rules, and using social media wisely. Students were also reminded to filter information before sharing it, to avoid being easily provoked by fake news or hate speech, and to refrain from spreading content involving violence or cyberbullying.
“You should focus on your studies, pursue your aspirations, and uphold your own reputation, as well as that of your family and your school. Stay away from bullying, drugs, motorcycle gangs—which often lead to criminal activity—and any other negative social circles. Use social media wisely, do not be easily swayed by information that may not be true, and have the courage to report to your teachers or the police if you become aware of any unlawful acts,” stated Kapolres Eko.
Through this initiative, the Polres Ciamis hope that students will gain a better understanding of the importance of discipline, responsibility, and care for others. It is also hoped that the school environment will become a safe and comfortable place for learning, while fostering a generation of young people who are high-achieving, possess strong character, and are law-abiding.
The school administration and the students expressed their appreciation and gratitude to Kapolres Eko and his team for the education and attention provided. The event served as an important reminder for students to avoid deviant behavior and to exercise greater wisdom in their social interactions and use of social media.
The Polres Ciamis remain committed to supporting the educational sector through ongoing educational and developmental programs for the youth, serving as a preventive measure against juvenile delinquency, while also ensuring a safe and conducive environment in Ciamis Regency. (Bembo)
