An individual with the initials ‘B’ was apprehended by the Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Polres Metro of Central Jakarta for his involvement in narcotics trafficking.

progresifjaya.co.id, JAKARTA — The Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Polres Metro of Central Jakarta has apprehended a man, identified by the initials B (50), for his alleged involvement in the illicit drug trade in the Kemayoran area, Central Jakarta. During the arrest, authorities seized 202 pills—suspected to be ecstasy—which were pink in color and bore the TMT logo.

The suspect, B, was taken into custody on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at approximately 4:00 PM, in front of the Kemayoran District Office in the Serdang area, Central Jakarta. The arrest followed a tip-off from the public regarding suspected narcotics distribution activities in the vicinity.

Acting on this information, officers from Sub-unit 3A of the Polres Metro of Central Jakarta Narcotics Unit conducted an investigation and surveillance at the location. A man observed speaking on a mobile phone drew suspicion and was promptly apprehended for questioning.

A search of his belongings revealed two plastic bags containing a total of 202 pills, suspected to be ecstasy, which were concealed inside a black bag and a black plastic bag. A yellow Poco-brand mobile phone was also seized as evidence.

Kapolres Metro of Central Jakarta, Kombes Pol Reynold E.P. Hutagalung stated, that his department remains committed to intensifying efforts to eradicate the illicit drug trade, including following up on all information provided by the public.

“We will not provide any space for the narcotics trade within the Central Jakarta area. We will handle every piece of information from the public professionally through thorough investigation and law enforcement. We also urge the entire community to work together in safeguarding our neighborhoods from the dangers of drugs,” he asserted.

The suspect, identified as B, along with the seized evidence, has been taken to the Polres Metro of Central Jakarta headquarters for further questioning. A urine test has also been administered as part of an ongoing investigation to determine whether other individuals may be involved in the narcotics distribution network.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations for the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Bhudi Hermanto stated, that information provided by the public plays a crucial role in assisting the police in uncovering suspected narcotics trafficking. Concern and cooperation between the police and the community are key to safeguarding neighborhoods from the dangers of drugs.

“This case demonstrates the vital role the public plays in supporting police operations. Through the spirit of Polisi Bersama Masyarakat, we encourage all citizens to look out for one another, protect their surroundings, and not hesitate to report any suspicious activity related to narcotics. Preventing and eradicating drug-related issues requires our collective involvement,” he said.

He added, that the Polda Metro Jaya also urge the public to come forward with any information regarding suspected drug abuse or trafficking by contacting their nearest police station or calling the police emergency hotline at 110.
